You'll have to tell us which province you will be living in once you arrive in Canada. Also, please do not type in all caps - it's very difficult to read.

She will be able to get health coverage in Canada with PR although there could be a wait period depending on what province you will be living in. For example in Manitoba I think you need to be here for 6 months before you are covered. All provinces have different wait periods.

Once she has the coverage then all medical costs will be covered.

1. As there is a 3 month waiting period in both BC/Ontario, if your wife delivers during that period, you can expect to pay from $4K to $10K from your pocket for the delivery, no private insurance company will ensure you for delivery costs.
2. The Gov't does NOT give new Immigrants money, they are expected to stand on their own feet.

Canada will certinly not pay you $8,000 for the kid.

Canada has a Canada Child Tax Benefit (CCTB) that is a monthly payment provided you qualify. It's not very much money. You can read about it here: http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/goc/cctb.shtml
