Dear all,

I have received a letter acknowledging my application with a mention that I should submit the translated birth certificate of our daughter and the dead line for submission is 30 days from the letter.

Since I am arranging the translated document from India, it is taking bit longer than 30 days:

Is this time frame and the deadline of 30 days is strictly followed or if we submitting in couple of weeks later is it acceptable.?
or do we have to mention that we are in the process of obtaining the required translated document ?

The letter mentions that if we fail to submit the required documents within the deadline, application will be returned to you as unprocessed.

I will appreciate your kind advise.

Many thanks and very best regards.

No, it has to be in the time frame they tell you, so prepare a letter explaining the situation in detail and send it right away to CIC. In their email they usually tell you that if you cannot provide the documents in time you can send a letter explaining why, and they indicate how to send it. Check the instructions. If no instructions, send it through webform on the website, AND call CIC as well just in case, so they can register the situation.

Have you already arranged translation in India ? If not, you can do it in Canada if you are here. Its going to be very fast, however you need to have the original document with you.

Hi Helena,

Many thanks for your prompt response. Presently I am not in Canada. However I am following up with the concerned agencies to provide the required translated document.

Very best regards.

That's great, but inform CIC anyway, even if you think they could be on time, send the Webform soon saying that there mught be a delay just in case... you'll save yourself a nightmare.

And send it soon as it may take many days for them to read it.

Hi Helena,

Thanks again for the quick response. Regarding the web form, can you please send me the format? or the format reference ?

Very best regards.

If you google "IRCC Webform" it will take you exactly there.

Also, I think you can do it from inside your account.

Hope it goes smooth !
