If we have to be out of Canada due to employment requirement (business trips) to USA and other countries, while employeed by Canadian employee, is it counted as living in Canada or not? This is for the purpose to count days for applying for citizenship.

Unless you’re a federal governement’s employee abroad, it doesn’t count. You have to be physically present in Canada

The days you travel are counted. Nothing more, whatever the reason of being outside the country (unless you're a crown servant).
The physical presence in Canada is strict since 2015 when Harper's gov repelled the "residence" criteria.
