Hi everyone, my husband is renewing his PR card. We've had a couple of weeks vacations which we have dates for. We also have quite a few days that we walked across the border into the States for the day. I don't know the date of each and every day trip in the last five years.

Does anyone have a suggestion on what to do, or how we're able to find out each date we left and returned.

Thank you for your help!

The first thing to do is to verify if day trips need to be reported for PR renewal.

You can order your info from CBSA to see what they have on you, see http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/agency-agence/reports-rapports/pia-efvp/atip-aiprp/req-dem-info-eng.html

You don't lose any time in Canada due to day trips but it is better to report all the trips CBSA has listed so immigration doesn't think you are trying to hide something. If you think there might be more trips than CBSA has listed and you don't know when, just write a cover letter explaining that.

I included day trips in my application, since it is stated on IMM 5444E the following: "21. TRAVEL HISTORY: Have you travelled or lived outside of Canada in the last five (5) years (or if you became a permanent resident less than five (5) years ago, since becoming a permanent resident)? Include all absences (including those due to employment, vacations, trips to the United States and any other time you left Canada)"

And in the instruction guide: "Question 21
Your Travel History: You must list all your absences from Canada in the last five (5) years, or since becoming a permanent resident if less than five (5) years ago. Fill in the dates of the period that should be assessed.

Absences include vacations, absences due to employment, trips to the USA and any other time you left Canada." Source: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5445ETOC.asp

If you're unsure, I'd do as Leon said: write them a cover letter and explain it.

Since it was just a matter of hours, when entering manually the dates under "Number of days" I put 0.
