no. day trips are not required to be declared in residency calculator

Day trips not required as it is not considered absence.

The residency calculator mentions that you do not need to declare day trips to US. I did not declare my day trip to US and there were no issues.

You can list your day trip on the residence calculator if you so desire to. I don't think there is any harm in listing them after all the residence calculator will list it as 0 day absence.
