Hello,

I have few simple questions for anyone who can answer. (FYI. I am a PR, sponsoring my current common law partner, Swedish, via outbound visa office London, and we are putting our papers together. We started dating since 2008 Nov and started common law in Feb 2013. )

1. We have lots of photos from 2008 Nov. It seems that the best way to put them is by trips and dates. For dates, how specific does it need to be? For example, could we write, " July 2012 - a trip in Denmark" ? would it be enough? Please share your experience.

2. About Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union... My common law partner will also include an OpenWork Permit Application form. On the checklist for OpenWork Permit application, it says to include Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union if applicable. Since I ,PR, am already living&working in Canada, we do not need to include it for neither open work permit nor sponsorship-PR application. Is this correct?

3. My Swedish common law partner is having hard time finding his old passport which has stamps of entry into countries we travelled together such as Europe, Canada, and S.Korea. It would be nice to have photocopies of them but since he may have lost the old passport, is there anyway he can retrieve those stamps or proofs? ( other than email confirmation of tickets he purchased and our photos?) -Should we be worried about this?

Thank you a lot!!!

1. Just month is fine.

2. There is no OWP associated with an outland app. If applying for some specific permit like IEC that is done separately. You cant submit OWP with an outland app.

And stat dec of common law is not required for spousal/partner class apps.

3. Old passport stamps are not mandatory. You can always include photos, airplane tix, etc of proof of travels together.

Hi,

1. A brief description is fine.

2a. The Statutory Declaration of Common-Law is only a requirement if you have a co-signer. Having said that, providing this document cannot hurt and may help...albeit slightly perhaps.

2b. Unless your partner needs/wants to work in Canada before s/he has PR, why are you applying for OWP (which isn't even an option for an Outland applicant)? Inland applicants are eligible for OWP after AIP.

3. Having travel stamps in his passport will be of no value in proving that you were traveling with him, unless your passport has the same stamps, of course.

Good luck!
