Good evening

In recent days apply for a temporary resident visa, the June 26 2014 I got a favorable response, but the dates of issue and expiry in my passport record (24/06/2014 to 30/09/2014) did not match those I requested (15/08/2014 to 25/11/2014). What should I do? The problem is that I will perform an banding training with Long Point Bird Observatory and Bird Studies Canada and the importance of the dates of my stay is to match in the fall migration of birds.

Thank you very much.

Expiry date on TRV indicates the last date you may enter Canada. At POE IO will stamp your passport authorizing duration of your stay. Normally with TRV they can allow to stay up-to six months. When entering if you show all your required papers, I believe you will be authorized to stay for the period that you have planned.

Amir khalilov : I am in a similar situation. I have sent my passport to the embassy to get stamped. But I had ask for a duration of one month from 1june to 1july which has already passed. And I have still not recieved my passpott back.

Now, I want to know how longt the immigration officer at Canada airport will stamp my visa for. I would Want him to stamp a six month visa ..how to convine him?

Also,is it true that now adays even if u apply for single entry visa u still get a multiple entry visa?

1- Your passport might be stamped at the POE. The stamp will show the duration. In most cases the officer won't stamp it. In this case you are allowed to stay for 6 months.
You cannot convince the officer. It's up to him to decide.
2- No, it's not true. It's possible though.
