Hi there,

I have a quite complicated situation so I'd very much appreciate any advice or assistance.
I am applying under FSW as I have 3.5 years of skilled work under NOC 1111. I was working full time in my home country (from Sep 2007 till June 2011) WHILE studying part-time at the University (from Sep 2007 till March 2011). So basically I stopped working soon after graduation. My University degree was assessed by ICES as an equivalent to Canadian Master degree. But it was an integrated program without division into Bachelor or Masters (in my country there were no such terms as Bachelor and Master at this time, however, the degree was assessed as an equivalent to Canadian Master). All the tasks I was performing during my work experience match to the duties described in NOC 1111.

However, filling in the Express Entry application, I've encountered the question: "Date ME first became qualified to practice in this occupationI. This is the date they first obtained the minimum education or training stated in the NOC description. (Note: if the NOC only states high school, this is the date they graduated.)"

1) First of all, strictly speaking, while working in this position, I was not meeting all the employment requirements listed in NOC as I was in progress of receiving my university degree, didn't have any accounting experience before starting working as an auditor and have never been a part of any professional association.
However, as I thought, matching the "Employment requirements" how they are described in NOC is not mandatory for claiming the work experience as it reads in the guidelines for the Immigration staff:
"Note: The applicant does not need to demonstrate that they meet the “employment requirements” listed in the NOC occupational description" .http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/econ/fsw/minimum.asp
2) But then WHAT IS THE PURPOSE for this question "state when XX first qualified to work in this position"? And what date should I use? If I put here the date of my graduation, which is BEYOND the time period when I was working, I am afraid that it would put all my work experience under risk (logically).

3) An option would be to arbitrary pick the date during my study period assuming that the Master degree normally lasts 1-2 years and I received an equivalent to the Bachelor's degree somewhen let's say in March 2009 (allowing 2 years for Masters considering that my studies were part-time). Then I would have 2 years and 3 months of work experience (March 2009-June 2011) covered with this "arbitrarily" appointed Bachelor degree. Can I do it like that? If so what is the best way to determine the break point in my studies?

4) And overall, HOW CRUCIAL IS THIS QUESTION AT ALL? What if I put here the date of My Master graduation? Will it put my work experience for FSW purposes under risk?

Thank you so much to all of you for any tips and hints on this life and death matter :)

I dont know what the purpose of this statement is. Apparently, CIC also considers your part-time or pre-qualification work experience provided that it is not a part of your training/apprenticeship. So no, technically this statement means nothing.

2) But then WHAT IS THE PURPOSE for this question "state when XX first qualified to work in this position"? And what date should I use? If I put here the date of my graduation, which is BEYOND the time period when I was working, I am afraid that it would put all my work experience under risk (logically).

If using your graduation date here does not change your CRS, then this is a system flaw. DO NOT BE WORRIED! The system does not affect CRS and I am a witness to this in my own case. Although I have recently filed eAPR and much is to unfold soon, this date has impact on the Federal Skills Trade scheme.

3) An option would be to arbitrary pick the date during my study period assuming that the Master degree normally lasts 1-2 years and I received an equivalent to the Bachelor's degree somewhen let's say in March 2009 (allowing 2 years for Masters considering that my studies were part-time). It's better to select the date of completion of your qualification. Any other date will be unverifiable and may come off as misrepresentation in my opinion.

4) And overall, HOW CRUCIAL IS THIS QUESTION AT ALL? What if I put here the date of My Master graduation? Will it put my work experience for FSW purposes under risk?

Employment Started: Apr 2015
3 years bachelors- Sep 2016
4 years bach: Mar 2018

Should I mention Sep 2016 as minimum qualification for NOC 1311 or I can mention the day I started my job considering requirements of NOC 1311.

Appreciate your help.

You can put Sep 2016. Not an issue.

If your job doesn't require any special certifications (think electrical engineer, doctor, dentist, cpa, etc) you can just type the day that you started your job as the day you "became qualified to do it". If you have a job that requires a provincial or technical certificate, type the day you got the certificate.

That's what I did with my application and now I have my PR. Best of luck!

It requires some diploma or secondary education but I’m only submitting my education from UK so need for that.

Moreover

Need more details about your work history to be able to answer that. I don't have a clear picture.
Employment started: Apr 2015
Grad 3 years- sep 2016
Grad 4 years- Mar 2018
End of Employment: June 2018

If I mention Sep 2016, will my work experience count from Apr 2015 or Sep 2016??
