All the best to everyone still waiting.
We applied through Nairobi Visa office in March and I landed on November 9th.

Please keep updating the thread, you never know it could just be an encouragement to someone.

Hello! Everyone the forum is completely silent any update guys I think everybody is busy with the winter shoveling snow. Now holidays are over I hope there is good news for everyone in January. Do you have guys any idea how long will it take the security background check?

Hi everyone, just wanted to give an update on our status.

Filed application: August 10
AOR1: August 30
File Transfer/SA approval: September 7
PR Approval: November 23
Landed: January 16

We thank everyone for their support and prayers, and are thankful for such a speedy approval and wish everyone luck on theirs. The Dar visa office seems to be extremely fast, and we did our Medical and FBI/Police clearances up front as well. If you have any questions let me know. Again, good luck to everyone else waiting, wishing everyone the best.

God Bless :)

We did FBI background clearance and started the process in late July and didn't get it back till October.

Hello kind fellow applicants,I recently recieved my PR status here in Canada after a very long wait ( through refugee program)and my spouse file got transferred to Dar and a month ago.I logged into ECAS using the application number and saw that it said in process. But funny thing is Dar office have not sent any acknowledgement of receipt nor request any document from my spouse. Is this normal? Does anyone with experience with Dar visa office know how long do we have to wait before they request any document and approve his application? According to cic under the program I applied my family should be processed together with my application( concurrent processing ).

I tried searching online for refugees who are waiting or processing spousal application but I got no hit. This is the closet I got.

Your advise and guidance is very much appreciated and needed.

Last time I saw my spouse was 2014....

Congs dear,
My question is when you received AIP didn't CIC tell you to send your spouse's documents to Dar? When I got AIP CIC asked me to send my dependants documents to Dar plus medicals which I did. However it's a year since we did so and I ve not got Dm yet. So here just waiting. By the way have you landed? Please lemme know coz am also from Montreal and dependants in Dar.i last saw my spouse and daughter in when my baby was only 6months now she's 5

Thank you so much Elger, I landed in Jan a day after decision made. When I got AIP cic never requested anything for my spouse even though in my application my spouse was included and fees were paid fully and accepted by cic. I called them yesterday and asked why my spouse has not recieved any correspondence and was told to call back end of feb if he has not recieved any correspondence for the visa office. Either someone forgot to send an email to Dar visa office or Dar visa office have the email but maybe are working in the order when an email was recieved. I really don't understand how it's done.

I am so sorry to hear your story, believe I know how it feels to be separated from a loved one and especially when you don't even know when you will see them again.

Good thing your spouse has submitted documents and done the medical as requested so I am sure you guys will land together... double joy
