Here is my story guys - As I mentioned, I received an email from the DSM VO requesting my passport, however, there was no mailing address or any instructions attached which I found odd. Anyway, after a couple of emails back and forth to NRB and DSM VO, I received a response from NRB giving me their mailing address. At this point, I was really confused because CIC had noted that my documents were sent to DSM despite me checking NRB on the application.
I mentioned this in the email just to clarify, and I was informed that my application is in NRB and not DSM, so to send my passport to NRB.
Here's what I'm guessing happened and I could be completely wrong. I believe the overflow from NRB is being sent to DSM just to review basic information and then sent back to NRB to finalize? Since I am a Kenyan citizen, DSM cannot stamp my passport.
Just wanted to keep you all posted in case anyone else is in the same situation.
The good news is that things are moving fast, so hang in there my friends!

Initially my file was in Nbi.but recetly I got an email from Dar VO that my wife file is there for now.we are waiting for PPR. the file have been in process since Agust 06th.

After seing yo post i had to check my ecas to it changed to inprocess says they started process my application on 21st it seems u came first.

congrats Zainy. The details I am reading are quite confusing though. Are you applying yourself for a PR or are you sponsoring your spouse? If you are a kenyan citizen why involve dar es salaam? Your medical test date is November 2014 and application submitted in May 2015. Why the six month delay?
I am a canadian citizen sponsoring my spouse. My spouse is a Tanzanian citizen. Upfront medical results were delivered to us on May 8th, 2015. Full application submitted on May 11th. Sponsor approval was done by July 14th. File transferred to Dar es Salaam and received in Dar es Salaam on 16th July. ecas changed from "Application Received" to "In Process" around October 9th. Does anyone have a similar story to mine?
A friend told me that in the Nairobi office, a PR application to sponsor your spouse typically stays "In Process" for at least 6 months before a passport request is made. This same friend told me it takes about 2 months from "Application Received" in Nairobi to transition to "In Process". In my case the Dar es Salaam office took almost 3 months to make this transition (July 16th to Oct 9th). So the claim that the Dar es Salaam office is moving fast doesn't make complete sense to me.
Dar es Salaam office is still new, so I haven't yet heard of anyone getting their PR from there. I was hoping Zainy's case could be used to give me a timeline, however, zainy's situation seems different from mine.

yes its true dar es salaam is anew VO nd yes i think zainys case was handled difrrently first of all because she was already on a visitors visa in canada which means there wasnt much need of doing background checks since she alredy hd avisa frm them nd it hadnt expired yet because i my self applied in the same time frame like zainy but my app turned inprocess last week on 10th oct 2015.
I believe each case is treated differently nd u dont hv to worry dar es salaam handles the excess app from Nairobi nd i believe its way mch faster than nairobi its self coz i have heard 4 cases completed in only 6 months
Now that our files are (inprocess) meaning they are working on us we only have to wait nd pray all goes well nd fast the few cases i have heard of were inprocess for two months or a month nd few weeks then they got emails askg for there passport.
Jst pray that u dont get the inreview coznits another setback.
