usually a couple of days, they dont email much, i mean every time i tried they called me saying we got your email, if not try and find their local office or look for their contact number which is going to be in ottawa,

hello everyone i am new here, however i had read through several of your posts and find that we are all in the same boat. I got the all clear on my end to sponsor my husband as of nov.18,2010 in damascus. in april they wrote to us requesting some updated files from lebanon showing our civil status and his military records. we have not heard anything since we submitted all that was requested. i am seriously disappointed to have read that processing times are now at 13 months!!! has anyone's spouse received their visa from around november 2010?? feeling seriously devastated to know there is still possibly another 4 months ahead of us

Hey welcome to the forum. my application started being processed on nov 22 2010.. up to now no answer. I m sponsoring my husband from lebanon too... but some people whose file was sent to damascus in november got their visa already

Hi Nags thank u for welcoming me. I am in Ontario. We have similar cases it seems and our time frame is pretty exact. I called my local MP this morning after having heart failure reading the updated processing time and he was pretty quick to get back to me. he informed me that there is no hold up on my husbands file but that the processing time is indeed SLOW. no glitches of any sort. ugh what does one do with this info?! my husbands medical expires tomorrow, my MP along with service canada both advised not to go and have it re done unless the embassy asks for it , that is decided on by whom ever is responsible for the file i guess.. have you been back to lebanon at all during this time?

my husband`s medical expires on august 20th. but from what i`ve seen so far no one was accepted in canada with an expired medical exam. one of our friends here yayamarie had his visa acceptation but they asked him to redo his medical before giving it to him and he did it a month ago and he is still waiting so i think its better to re-do it now dont u think ????? i just came back from lebanon sunday i was there for 1 month, it was my wedding ceremony and i went on honeymoon for 1 week to turkey with my husband. what about u did you go back since then

ok as for the medical i agree with you. i personally think that it should be done ahead of time because i dont think these people realize how slow things move back home. so will u wait another week and see what happens then have your husband go back and re do the medical? second mabrook, hope u had a wonderful wedding and honeymoon. I got married last summer in Beirut and came back september to do the paper work. I haven't been back, i was working and trying to lead a semi normal life if that is even possible. I am thinking to go down next month. it has been 1yr since i got married and have seen my hubby. no amount of phone time or skype can make up for this distance, it just gets to be too much.. it must have been so hard for you to come back home (canada) . sorry what province are you in?

I think I will wait till the end of next week . I'm in Quebec. yes goodbyes are always hard this process is non-senseeeeeeee
