hi
my application send to damascue 10/8/2011

Did they send it to Damascus or Ottawa, In the mail you receive from them was there a yellow page that says the file will be sent to Ottawa instead because of the situation in Damascus?

its weird, there seems to be no pattern here, some files are going to damascus like substone, some ottawa, and by the way allot of us didn't receive anything in the MAIL, just emails....

are you the sponsor or the person being sponsored?

Im sponsoring my wife, and im in Canada now, two months after I applied to Mississauga they sent me (by mail not e-mail) that my wife application was sent to ottawa instead of damascus because of the situation.

in you case, did the sponsor (the person in canada) receive this mail?

holy shit!

conservative government shamelessly slowed down the first step as well!!!

i think it's never gonna end . seriously. watch this in a month they'll say the time is increased to 14 months

i don't get it, when they say 13 months does that means the application could not finish before 13 months or it is the maximum duration to wait?
I have a friend who sponsered his wife before 7 months and she got her visa and came last week.

13 months is an average completion time.. ya well some ppl are lucky. One of my superiors at work her sister is sponsoring her husband from Lebanon and she's a Canadian citizen not PR , she decided
to go to Lebanon and stay with him till the visa come. and anyway Damascus sent her an email asking her to provide phone bills, pay stubs and stuff like that which is weird because she didn't even mention to them that she was moving to Lebanon and on top of that if I'm not mistaken if you're a citizen you don't hbe to reside in Canada to sponsor a spouse

yup you are right, you just have to show them somehow that you want to come back and not stay in whichever country you are

hello there, well and if one lose her/his job how can one prove that they are residing?I am going to resign then how can I prove that I am in Canada?
I think the best proof they may ask for is the passport translation.what do you think?
