Basicaly what I am understanding is that CSIS is the agency doing the background check, they will check with all agencies. You cant lie to them, but I hope for you to get your ppr

thank you niagradreamin
yes you are right ,and its not a good idea to even try to lie about something cuz if they find out ,you can basically forget about canada,it is considered fraud and it is serious,i once was reading about a case that someone sent fake university degree certificate and they had found out ,as i know every paper that we send them they send it to a special lab checking for fraud it is complicated offcourse this is done electronically ,thank you again for your wishes and hope you get your ppr .

thats is exactly right, the thing is after September 11 Canada made a new legislation that the federal government can control immigration through the law and basically use fraud and things like that to either reject people or deport them, but one thing to know is that its not lying unless they ask, some people get scared when they deal with the government that they say things or show things they didn't have to, there's an old saying if you don't get caught its not illegal, im not saying lie or provide false information, but if they don't ask for it and you provide because your scared that can affect A LOT , so its good to just follow their process as they ask for it, step by step, document by document, everything else works itself out

Guys i just wanted to say things are really getting ugly in syria, 15 people killed yesterday and more than 10,000 came unto the streets to protest, i checked the rules of immigration and everything and apparently if there is an emergency like what happened in Egypt the government forces them to finish files faster and then they stop accepting new files for a period of time untill things go back to normal, so i guess thats kind of a relief since we are all waiting and now this happens, the good thing is that its in the south of syria but AS WE ALL have seen they eventually make it to the capital which is when the diplomats leave and embassies close, so hopefully nothing happens,

Are you guys syrian originally? like are u from syria and you lived in syria?

ok my friend the question you asked can have many answers, for example i am an iranian living in canada , my wife is iranian, she lives in iran and shes has been there for her entire life, so basically she needs a police report from iran, its you nationality that matters, the person you are sponsoring needs a police report from the country they were born in , so nationality , do u know what i mean ?

How to obtain a police certificate
Syria

Do I need to provide a police certificate when applying for permanent residence?
Yes, all applicants aged 18 or older must provide a police certificate.

How and where do I obtain one?

If you live in Syria
If you are a Syrian resident, you should present your identification card or resident permit and pay the applicable fees (55 Syrian pounds) to the Ministry of the Interior, Interior Services Forces, Directorate of Criminal Security Department, Criminal Records Branch, Judicial Records Division.

If you are a non-Syrian resident, you should apply with proof of civil status to the Minister of Interior, Internal Security Forces, Criminal Security Administration. You must apply in the Syrian city in which you permanently reside.

If you live outside Syria
You may apply through Syrian embassies abroad.

Please note that the fees are subject to change.
