I think I have bad chance with lawyers in Canada, I found a lawyer but unfortunately from the beginning she has delay with replying to my questions by e-mails!

Finally, I will submit the outland application by myself, but I have few questions if you or someone in the forum can help me,
-For medical examination, I did it one few days ago, but the doctor just gave me the receipt not the IMM 1017 form, and he said that the form will be send to Ottawa! is that normal? or he has to give me also the form?
-If I am from Lebanon, which one I have to choose for Canada Visa office(Beirut OR Damascus), what is the different?
My file now is almost done, just I need to pay the application fees, and I will include some documents and proofs explaining for the immigration what happened with my previous lawyer regarding my visa expiration.

Don't worry about the lawyer, you know every detail of your file, you must have filled the forms perfectly.Just review the file for 2-3 times. My lawyer doesn't do anything useful for me, he just charged me . With lawyer or without one doesn't make any difference in my case.

About the medical your doctor is right you have to bring the appendix C( At the end of country specific instruction pdf) to you medical doctor after you are done with the medicals he will give you a receipt which you have to send with rest of your documents to Mississauga, keep a copy of that recipe but send the original one to Mississauga. We shouldn't do anything with IMM 1017 form. Doctor will fill it out and send them.

Regarding your second question I've learned from this forum that if you send your file to Lebanon it will be 2 months delay for transferring it to Damascus. I think its better for you to send it to Damascus. Lebanon just receive your file and then send it to Damascus, its much wiser to send the file to Damascus in the first place.

transferring the file from Canada to Damascus and then to Beirut will cause 2 months delay this info from my lawyer and from personal experience but it is a personal choice

Write a good cover letter. Explaining the whole situation about your visa and previous lawyer but if I were you I think a little help or consultation with a lawyer or someone professional will be very useful. Submit your file by yourself but ask them what should I write in that cover letter just go for consultation. Wish you best of luck, if there is anything else I would be glad to help you.

Koumail I am from lebanon too and I sent my application to Beirut but I think it was a mistake because like Kamal said all they do there is the interview all the file is processed in Damascus so you're better off sending it there. Good luck

I have a question I don't know if anyone will be able to answer it. My husband was born in 1977 in Lebanon but he didn't do his army since his father died serving in the army he was exempt from it. Anyway, with the application we didn't send the exemption papers from the army because men are no longer required to joined the army in lebanon. Do you think they will still ask for the exemption letter and if yes can someone get that letter for you for example brother or mother ( because my husband works in africa he can't go to lebanon just to get a letter). Thanks for your help guys !

based on documents they ask if you have joined army and where and your grade and any war,so when your husband havent been in army it is like a boy under 15 and they dont ask why you havent been in army? some countries like India and ... they dont have mandatory military service

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSs they will ask for it before decision is made and they can refuse application or prelonged the process if they dont have it on file
not only he needs an exemption but to add a letter explaining dates and reasons why he did not join the army and you have to translate for english and go to katab adel in lebanon to certify.
keep a copy for yourself and send it by registered mail.
if someone can get it for him yes mother is better she needs a proof that she is mother and explain why she needs it, i do believe there is some charge i forget how much it costs

all the best i have the same issue with them so give it before they ask for it

I was going to submit the application by after-tomorrow , as I am waiting my new apartment lease which I will get it tomorrow or after,
Thank you for nagz2207 concerning the Lebanese army exemption, because I was going to send the application without it, I have the exemption paper but I need to translate it.
Also I have few questions,
-Do I have to include the (Ekhraj al kayd al 3a2ili) the one for my father, OR the one for me, or the twice? (of course translated)
-Do I have to include the (My civil identity-Hawiye aw ekhraj e2d farde) Or it is enough my passport?
-Again for medical examination, do I have to send just the receipt that I got it when I paid OR the IMM 1017 form? because the doctor told me that the result will be mail to Ottawa not to you!!
-If I have a new baby, where I have to mention her name(under dependent children)?
-What's preferred when sending the file, by express or registered mail?
