Because your time schedule is like my wife and they told me 2-3 weeks ago that it is in BC.I think wait till mid of DEC then if there wasnt any news send an inquiry.because I think they just answer to youe first inquiry very well.

I've heard sending more than 2 inquiries might increase the process time. Is that right? So, when it would be better to send the first inquiry?

Actually i sent 2 inquiry in a week one for stat of file and second for informing that medical is going to be expired soon,in 9 nov they replied and said it is in BC if it is passed we will continue processing.so I think if you wait till mid DEC is better and we can undrestan what is going on in there,

I actually sent 2 inquiries, and they didn't even reply to any of those. My lawyer said that if the processing is still within the mentioned time they don't reply to inquiry.First when I applied in Cic website they have chart of 30% , 50% and ... .At that time I called the call center and the lady told me, "Send the inquiry when your time line passes that 80% and you still haven't heard anything ". So I didn't send them any inquiry until they asked for more documents and my lawyer suggest after 20 days of document submission we send an inquiry to have an update on a file but they didn't reply.

Now that cic change the whole thing to 9 months I don't understand, are we suppose to send inquiries or not??Anyways we sent a new one on 11th November, but they didn't reply yet.

Hello everybody!!

My sponsorship was approved on November 10th and the application was sent to the Damascus VO then. I still haven't heard back that they received it or anything.

How long approximately did they take to update ecas with the new info that they are processing the application?
Also, it appears like for the majority of the people on this thread they are taking much longer than the said 9 months to process the applications...
Hopefully they don't take forever with this, my husbands medicals expire the beginning of September 2011, which is 10 months approximately from the date the application was sent to Damascus...

We'll see what happens!

Dear Rola

It will usually take 2 to 4 weeks for damascus to issue a file number and send it to you. Please be noted that sometimes they send the letter by POST which take 2 additional weeks to be delivered ! so I think it is very soon to expect the letter now. Wait another 2 weeks and lets see what happens next
about your medical exam, I am optimistic that your case will be done within 10 months.

I sent them 3 emails until now. First was to correct a mistake made by my lawyer when filling the forms. Second was to announce them I am admitted to university and needs to be there soon and the last was because of their mistake. They posted my address wrong on E-cas ! I'm running out of enquiry !!! Anyway I'll send them an email on 7th December because this waiting is killing me and I didn't find anywhere in their website that more than 2 enquiries will slow down the process speed. I believe this enquiry is needed. I need to tell them that I have to be there before 15th January otherwise I have to take medical qualifying exams later :-(

A lot of the charts made have docs requested/sent, which docs are you all referring to, and what does pp request mean? Why do they request the passport, and what does passport request even mean, that he needs to have a passport or send it to them or what? :S

We're going to pass EXACTLY A YEAR OF PROCESSING IN DAMASCUS on 26th November!!

You are right we can send as much inquiry as we like. I emphasize in my last post my lawyer said "more than 2 ....." but for sure he just wanted me to leave him alone . If it is necessary I will send them more. We have to wait for months and they want us to be quite !!! it is not fair we have to show them we are not that patient.

Welcome to the thread.As Rezan mentioned you have to wait at least for two more weeks by then you will have your file number.Hopefully your case will finalized within 6 months don't worry about the medicals.
About your question, Damascus will ask you to fill the questionnaire. For some of us they sent the questionnaire after 5 months for others they send it right away after they sent the case to Damascus. I don't know what is the story behind this questionnaire but Damascus ask all of us to fill the questionnaire.Along with questionnaire they sometimes ask for more documents like copy of passport (sponsor) or copy of PR.Sometimes they ask for more documents from sponsor (bill payments, house rental, .....). In some cases they will go through your file and if they find something is missing they will send you an email so you provide them the documnet( lack of photos, lack of evidence, missing form, missing fee,....)
PP means Passport Request, when they ask for Passport Request it means they are ready to issue a visa.You can either send your passport(you husband's passport) or bring it to the embassy by yourself.
