I see. Well for THY you need to buy ur ticket in advance. I got mine months ago for Iran and it was below 1000.
Yea Air Canada prices are ridiculous. Bunch of times I wanted to go to Vancouver but the priced changed my mind! lol

Hey guys,
Since so many airlines are stopping flights to Iran, what we do mostly is to fly Emirates from Seattle and those in Toronto can use JFK. Prices are under 1000. The only thing is to get is a US transit visa which costs about $160.
Without Emirates we're stuck to use Lufthansa in BC which costs 1800-2200 per trip.

I have re-analysed the data you've collected. Here are the results:
1- days from application to PPR: Median=430 Mean=394
2- days from getting approved to PPR: Median=361 Mean=314
3- days from getting in-process to PPR: Median=195 Mean=207

The data of 46 individuals has been included in this analysis. This is the results since yesterday and can possibly change with any additional day or any new event. As you can see the dispersion of the in-process days is lesser than those two and seems more reliable. Median and mean were calculated using Kaplan-Meier's test and are statistically survival measures. Median survival is a more reliable measure. It means, until yesterday, there was a median waiting time of 430 days from application, 361 days from approval of eligibility, and 195 days from the day status has been changed to in-process to be passport requested.
Dear Cyrus,
I've done the analysis for new applicants too. But I think the 1 year you calculated was due to the huge backlog for the sponsor aproval last year. It took some people 3 months to get approved.
There was also a huge backlog in Ankara due to embassy closures Damascus and Tehran. So I think the real processing time for new applicants are 3-4 months after getting status changed to in-process and about 4-6 months after sponsorship approval. August file transfers are getting their pprs one after another. Of course this is if there are no complications with the file.
I hope everyone before Aug 2012 gets their visas very soon so then VOs start processing our applications from 2013 :)

Thanks for sharing, I hope this is true, Ankara had always been one of the most organized and fastest...most likely we souldnt be waiting longer than 1 year
