I received my gcms note today after 2 requests and 70 days (they didn't find first one and I re-sent it again ) and I received an enquiry with MP about my wife's application today it took just 6 days, but result was same!
GCMS updated 28/12/2012
Location : HPT- hold request for PPT
Medical is extended for one year
All passed, for criminality: 1 but status is empty
The Enquiry with MP :
We were able to enquire into the status of your wife’s application and can tell you that the background checks were completed in November and December, the Medical is valid until Nov/13. All is now complete and looks ready for final decision and finalization of the file. Because there is a published processing time of 16 months, it could take 2-3 months more for finalizing, but the decision could be made before that. Should you not hear anything by April, please contact us again for another enquiry.

I have reviewed the application for temporary resident visa including supporting documents submitted and FOSS records. Based on the information available and having considered push factors such as family ties and domestic instability such as the current social and economic conditions prevailing in Iran that might cause subject to remain In Canada and pull factors such as employment /education ties and financial status that would demonstrate subject would be likely to return to his/her country of legal permanent residence or nationality, on balance I am not satisfied that subject is likely to be a genuine visitor. I also considered the justification of the travelling And the intended period of stay in Canada. The application is refused As per R179.
