Welcome !
To start off by answering your questions do not send any documents to the Visa office unless they have contacted you. I had just recently sent an email to the visa office in Amman (file transferred from Syria also) and they informed me not to send anything to the Visa office unless they specify! Second, I have sent plenty of emails to Jason Kenney's office and the officer/staff working for him told me to fill out a consent form which can be found online (which is a form where you discuss any issues regarding your application) and to send it to him, also in one of the emails, I was PROMISED by a staff that if I was to fill out the "Authorization to Release Personal Information Form" that I would receive an update on the application I submitted and this was two months ago with no luck or answer. So in my opinion, contacting a MP has not benefited me what so ever, just caused more stress and promising with no answer. If you wanted to know more about your file, as previous members have mentioned, ordering CAIP/GSMC notes is a good idea, by other comments in previous forums they seemed to have been useful for them. As for me, I just placed an order yesterday as my applicant has been waiting since January of 2011, soon approaching 2 years...As of physically going to the Embassy, not sure if that would help as other members have said it was a waste of time in their holidays to have booked a flight and went there to the embassy with no results. There was one person I believed who argued with the staff and he ended up getting a visitor's visa for his wife to stay in Canada until her processing has been completed. Not sure if there is anything really that can help other than waiting. I have sent plenty of emails to the Visa office, MPs, have called CIC and the visa office in Amman, nothing and no one helped. Good luck...by the way is your wife residing in Damascus at the moment ?

I have been a silent reader for some time now and I have a few questions about my application if anyone can help. I am a Canadian living in Canada and my application was received back in July 8/2011. Since then it has been transferred to Amman from Syria. My questions are:
1) My wifes medical have expired should redo her medicals now before anyone contacts her or should she wait till an officer ask's to redo them?
2) I have contacted an immigration lawyer and my local MP and they were not able to help me in this nightmare AT ALL. I feel like I have no one to turn too. Is there a way to find out any more information about my application?
3) Would a letter to Minister Kenny help at all?
4) I am considering flying to Amman to see my wife once again (its been close to 15 months). Do you think that I would be able to get some answers from the Embassy processing the application?
5) If there is anything that can be done other than just waiting?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. May God (Allah) give you all the patience to get through this nightmare. God Bless!!
