it is almost 17 month since my file received to damascus
and they said in my ecase they start processing it on 10 jan that mean 14 month but they send me mail in dec. that means they worked on it before jan.

so I do not know for sure when I have to start counting

On my account I have the following

We received xxxx xxxxx application for permanent residence on December 21, 2011.

Medical results have been received.

Where it says medical results have been recieved does that mean anything? When should I inquire about my application status?
Why know we all said before that ecase means nothing and it is not reliable. But how come they update for some people and don't for some. Don't they follow the same method.

Many people from early 2011 say that ecase says application received
But we have people from end of 2011 or 2012 that ecase says in process

That's exactly why we concluded that it is unreliable; because some people got their PR with their e-cas still saying "in process". So, don't worry about e-cas; it is not a measure of anything in that regard.

hows everyone today?

i'm just curious how long do you have in order to pick up your passport from the embassy? So would there be an issue if you were to pick up the passport after a month of getting your visa approval by email?

I'm just trying to see if they have a limited time frame and if you don't pick up your passport within that time frame whether there will be any consequences?

thanks

The best way to know is to have the embassy staff tell you.

yeah but we all know how much a pain the ass they can be, you can barely understand them and they just try to rush you off the call as fast as they could; sometimes i speak to them in Arabic thinking it might change the way they treat me but its all the same lol

hi lele,
When you get your CAIPS (inshalla you'll get your visa before) you'll see exactly when they recieved your file, it's written there when they first started checking your documents in Damascus.
As for time frames its all standard public relations politics (BS). They tell us don't expect anything before April and then if you recieve your visa before that you'll be very happy and say oh these people are working hard and if you don't they will probably make up something new. I remember someone posted a link to an article in a Jordanian newspaper were an embassy consultant said they are going to start working on files in two weeks and that was around Feb. 10th. Still, almost nothing from Amman except one case!
The problem is no body can complain and make a case against them becuase they (from VOs up to the minister) have the Syria situtation excuse. Thats the first thing they will put on the table if some one actually make a big fuss about it (if he/she can).
We can only hope for the good news. When we don't really know.
Rabna yesahel al omoor lal jamee3 especially those who have been waiting for so long..
Best wishes
