Dear A+M
what number did u call? would you please give it to me? thanks.

Hi Sheida,
I called the number listed on CIC's website:

Immigration Tel.: (90-312) 409-2700
Immigration Fax: (90-312) 409-2714

friends are you saying there is news says we should wait for 3 or 4 months or more to get our visas?
is what I read in this forum is true or I misunderstand you guys ?
its really bad and disappointed news ??? :'(

So, btw everything is going with Beirut's VO I wouldn't be surpirsed if the wait was for another 3/4 hell maybe even 5 more months! Does anyone agree on this, or do you guys think Beirut's going to come out of no where and throw those visas left right and centre? I'm pretty annoyed being asked 100 times, 'when are we going to meet your husband?!' and my answer being 'oh, gota wait for those immigration papers' its soo degrading :(

Good luck everyone, i'm sorry for the down mood, seems like you guys are the only people that understand what i'm going through! xoxo

Good morning everyone:)
so I was feeling anxious this morning and decided to call Ankara. I talked to a receptionist and asked her what the wait is like for the files from Damascus that were transferred over. she said to think of it as the Damascus embassy moving to a new location but everything staying the same. she said the files from Damascus are in their own location separate from the rest of the embassy with their own staff. so we would still follow the same timeline of 14 mths total... not starting over but continuous. I told her I was at 11 mths she said to expect 3 more mths. She was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable and even wished me luck. I know we get a lot of different answers no matter who we ask but thought I'd share this one. have a great day:)

Thanks for sharing the news A+M joon ... So basically this means a huge pile of files from Damascus are sitting in a dark room full of spiders and maybe 2 officers working on them and outside that room there is a tiny stack of files with lots and lots of officers sitting behind their nice white desks drinking coffee and each only having two or three of the files to work on because there wasn't that many files in Ankara before anyways ... How sad and disappointing this can be ... :( ... Why can't the officers with the pretty desks move their asses and go and help the people in the dark room ... Ugh!! Can't stand one more second of this process ...

(Sorry for all the negativity, I had to shout it out or it would have killed me)
Vivi after shouting --> :)

Hi A+M ... what about the files that were supposed to be sent to Damascus, but because of the circumstances, it was sent directly to Ankara? Do I have to expect 14 months or 5 months? I wonder ....

What do u guys think?

no one knows, what is happening to our files, but we are sure now they are all in "Beirut, ankara and amman".
how much time still in processing time? just expectations, but I am sure they will not back to zero, and the rest of the processing time will be finished by the new offices " If you want me to finish the work of my colleague I need to review what he did then start working on it and if I am new worker I need training to know how to finish my work" all that will take time ::)

hi all
i went today to the embassy in amman and asked them about my application and when they can issue the visa, they said that they didnt work yet on files from damascus and all file pending and still in boxes, so i ask them if they gonna start issue visas in March they say no maybe in april, and i ask another question about the old files she said they going to start from the point that damascus reach, she also told me to come back next month i dont know why she ask me that, so now i dont know if they telling the truth or not and i also dont know what to believe
.

Hi Imatra:) I would think the 14 mths but this a game with no rules and no one really knows. Everyone we talk to has a different answer:( The 14 mths is a average of files processed last year so they could be processed faster this year... it's a guessing game.... a game of luck!

Hi Lele, I know that they will not start from zero, but in my case when it said recvd file back in June 2011, when I clld my MP she said my file never went to Damascus and never was processed. So what now, do i wait another 12-1 months just because my file was neer processed? this is extremely frustrating......
