Don't give up! you simply can't because you would only temporarily make yourself feel bad, since this process is continue with or without your will! So better stay positive for the sake of your sanity until visa issue is behind all our backs!
I know a lot of people are suggesting to start new sub threads specific for the new embassy allocations, but THINK ABOUT IT:
For instance, I'm Lebanese and the Canadian embassy in Lebanon has never processed immigrant visas so nobody can share "their experience" to that regard. This applies to other embassies to the sense that even Ankara or Jordan with the new load, probably their processing times would change.
What I suggest we do is actually stick together because we are the only ones in the same boat, and nobody out there could help us with their experiences as we can each other.
We are all in a better position today than we were a week ago when we were all praying for the news to be official, as we expected the announcement came at the end of the month. I think vivi was the one who said that we won't hear from the new embassies until they want to inform us something; as they don't need to send a generic email telling us that our files have been transferred since they already explained that in the news brief.
We're getting closer, let's not crumble! I KNOW we will visas being issued in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully the first visas would be to the people who have been waiting the longest!

Hi,

I'm happy that they finally made official the news that known for some time. This is 13.5 months that my file is in Damascus. I wish that during the month of February my wife will get ppr. I agree with you siavashf we should keep us posted about ur progress in this thread.

yeeeeeeees don't go from here!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(:(:( let's keep this thread alive too...with who will i talk :o :o :o

guys/ladies i'm very happy for u, that it's final official news and the things more clear for ur files; but i'm really worried for the people stuck there :( :( :( reducing the embassy stuff to a minimum means the situation is really really bad and volatile!!!!! we have family there and it's really very difficult to bare

thanks so much for everyone who shared links with everybody; Missisauga received our file yesterday (yaaaay) and i hope they will forward it to Jordan; but i did notice a statement there "the Syrians outside Syria can apply to any Canadian office" does that mean automatically they will transfer his file to Abu-Dhabi even if we asked differently?! it will force us to stay here much more than what we planned :'( :'( and what would happen if we cannot stay until they r done? yeah i'm really worried ::) Bilal can u please update me when u have news of ur file transfer? thank u :)

on a positive note, i hope they will open back soon (=the situation will stabilize soon!!!), maybe until we get the sponsor approval; then they will have less backlog and if they send our file to Damascus it could finish so fast ::) only God knows

sohrab, it's really nice that u finally have a vacation and it will b really cool if ur wife will get the visa till then and come back together!!!! ;D good luck!!!

Ramz, happy that u passed this hard stage and ur life is not on hold anymore; i did send u a PM some time ago, not sure if u saw it or not; anyway, as i said before, i'm finally at the same stage like all of u, learning new virtues: patience, patience and patience, trying not to think too much or worry but it's haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaard!!!! enjoy every moment together!!!

good luck everyone and stay around!!
