Dear friends,

I have a question please,
If I am in Canada and I get my PR visa, do I have to leave Canada and Landing again OR I can send my passport to Damascus by Mail and landing from the US/Canada border ?? I am confused because I asked a lawyer and he said you have to leave Canada if you are applying from outland!!

Thanks
Hi Koumail,
I got my PR visa a couple of years ago "Skilled worker class" and I did not have to leave Canada to do it, I just went to immigration Canada office in my city and did it there. I am not sure about family class but I would imagine it would be the same.

I saw a lot of pessimism, so I've decided to pitch in for some old positive attitude by reminding everyone that "WITHIN" is still a good word!
So, within 13 months means you can receive it before if your file is complete!
Ok... If someone ask me tomorrow about my opinion I might start whining; but today is Positivism day.
I hope all of you people who have been waiting the longest to receive you files on Monday! And to the rest of us, wishing for a nice miracle!
All fingers crossed.
you're very sweet

thank you for the positivity , i guess sometimes we all loose faith im almost at 5 months but thats not nearly enough time to get a PPR ...anyhow i really wish PPR's for everyone very soon!

I'm around that time frame too. Damascus has received my file on April 27th; we haven't heard from them since!
However, being here and sharing this experience with everybody grounds me and makes me feel that I'm not alone in this!
So yeah, we should always remind each other that no matter how long this will turn out to be, it won't be anything more than a stage.

In reality, what can we sincerely do beyond praying and have faith!
I can't say that I know how you feel but nothing will help now more than praying for him to be safe and for the whole situation in Syria to be resolved. My prayers are with you.

thank you , i appreciate your heartfelt words , praying is all that can make me feel better and i really hope that he remains safe until he can finally be here with me , the wait is difficult enough without having a war situation and no communication , so i dont even know how i feel right now i feel guilty for leaving him there and its a terrible feeling....but i always say God knows better whats right for all of us ....again thank you for the kind words.

Hi,

I called immigration and asked them that how they calculate the processing time for sponsorship. Anyway, the time is form when file has received until the date when "visa is issued". That means if the processing time now is 13 months in the website, we should receive PPR after 11.5 or 12 months.

It was good news for me, 1 month really matters.
