The Canada's conservative government slowed down the immigration process considerably and they are under-staffed and situation in Syria made it worse.

damascus office deals with 6 countries immigration files ..but in syria its dangerous for example where my husband lives is very very dangerous and he remains under gun shots until they process in 11 or 13 it doesnt make sense honestly

what about earlier in the process did they request anything before at 4 or 5 or 6 months

No we had sent the complete application. So nothing was missing from our file. They only asked for wedding pictures with the RQ.

Thats sweet but i dont think they care if something happens to him only i do and i live in constant worry and stress and i pray that he will remain safe until he gets here inshallah

hi and welcome well your next step is ur residency questionnaire and they might ask u for some extra papers u ll get it soon i hope and if u have a visit visa why dont u go and stay with ur husband ??? ur RQ and extra paper u can manage to get the help of someone from ur family it wont be a big deal anyways good luck for the next step.

Thanks MR BOU, I was there and stayed for 2 months and I'm going back next week. However, I'm starting to get paranoid because I want to continue my education which has been delayed forever! I guess sometimes I think I'm being greedy especially when I read about the people who haven't seen their spouse for 6+months. Then I start feeling angry and resentful because the whole process got delayed! I don't know.. I guess I'm just all over the place!

On their website it says that the processing time for Syria regional office is 13 months! It increased 4 months after the uprise in Syria. I sent them many emails but they haven't replied so at least they get back to you!

It's a long story! A sad one i might add. But for now I applied to a canadian university and I got accepted relying on the previous processing times but now I'm not sure what'll happen!

go to canada on ur visit visa then switch it to a student visa

My wife had the same problem too, but try to find a professor and he/she can sponsor you with funds. A lot of people are doing this now. Of course, it depends to the course and your must have TOEFL and ... .

If you know that you are going to Canada, it's not worth paying thousands of dollars for 1 year.
