Sohrab! Actually, the doctor is going to send the medical to Paris! He wasn't sure the client number works like File number ! That, I asked you my friends!
So, the doctor can write down the client number on my medical report and send to Paris!
Later on any officer in Damascus office or anywhere can have access to my medical If he has my green paper in his hand! am I right!? :-X

I was in the exact same situation a few weeks ago. my husband redid medicals but we had only client ID not VO file number. I called CIC and they told me I had to put the VO number on because the client ID is tied to Mississauga not our VO. I emailed the embassy a few times but no response so our we finally had the dr. send it in with no number on it as the green sheet does say "Visa office file number if available" They specically asked for VO number. CIC told me it is best not to put down any number if we don't have VO number just make sure all info is correct so they can look u up. I would rather they look me up then confuse them with a number they aren't asking for. this is opposite of what Sohrab says though... I guess go with your gut feeling of what u should do. I'm sure either way they will be able to look u up

Yes, I think putting the client number in the medical sheet instead of the VO file number just makes the VO oficer confused. I would better leave the file-number box blank . They most likely can simply find my File number by searching for my name, birthday, etc. on their computerized sytem. thanks for sharing your experience!

This link should take you to the CIC webpage for processing times from different countries. If I am correct Jordan and Lebanon currently do not process PR applications so if files go there I would imagine the processing time would be the same... it would just be a transfer to a new embassy, everything else remaining the same. Ankara currently processes at 5 mths.... one of the quickest embassies. I don't know I'd our applications go there if they go under that processing time or not. I am quite confident it is closing, just a matter if where applications will be and I think after this initial delay it will speed up. I would think the embassy in Syria was busy helping get Canadians out... but I don't really know? hope the link for the chart works for u. if not go to www.cic.gc.ca and look down the right side to find processing times. you will ding the info in there.

So this rumor of "closure of Damascus" was there since 8 months and 15 days ago! I'm not sure that any transfer will ever happen....lets wait and see if any official statement is going to be announced by Damascus or we should wait for another 8 months to see the answer!

I think that they themselves are also confused and do not know what they are doing or saying. We remember these rumors from past and therefore there are people although applied in July still their files are waiting in Ottawa or other cases like that. So maybe in coming days they will clear their situation.

Btw, I spoke to a friend today in Ottawa and he works for the cic department and he said that applications are going to be transferred to Jordan, Lebanon, and Ankara, just like how some of you mentioned earlier. He also said that those employees in Damascus are being transferred to the other embassies as well.

I'm sure the guys who are in the same boat as me (9mths+) we can wait more but yes the frustration comes because no one has a clue whats going to happen with our files. Let's all cross of fingers and pray to Allah things will turn out well.

Yes! I heard from Siavash you and some applicants have already redone the medical test, and sent the test report without putting any file number on it! You are right! I don't need necessarily to write any other number (client number,...) in green sheet if i don't know my File number.

I'll have a chat with my lawyer in this regard today, yet what u said makes sense The only thing that I'm still confused about is how some of the applicants have their VO number. For example, I'm sure that Arezou has a VO Number starting with 'B'..... so how did they get it?

Yes Siavash. We got it from embassy's emails. Those days they was still answering the applicants emails. In their replies we found the file numbers one with B and one with F.

I think ,it s better one of us call the Damascus and ask them,
if they say to transfer to Lebanon , call to there.
