Damascus/Spousal since Jan 2010 or late 2009

If they're transferring files why would I get Damascus as my VO in the sponsorship letter? (I just got approved)

Nobody knows for sure yet. There is no official statement by the embassy ........this rumor is hurling around, we have to wait another 11 days and by that time January is over. If something is supposed to change we will know it by then, so please stop saying a word about this transferring process!! End of Jan will be clarifying.

Yes i have logged into ecas but it only says " Sponsor" ( Decision Made) and Application for perm. res. received Sept 21 ( but thats the date is sent my app to Mississauga"

So the lady on the phone in Damasucs Embassy said they will be transferring all files??? is that true...so may be its a good thing that it hasnt reached DAM yet....maybethey can send directly from Mississauga to Beirut?!

Have you checked whether it went to ontario? Some members files, after the situation in syria, have had their files transferred to Ontario.

Happy 9 months in advance!! It is ridiculous that a human can gives a birth to a baby in 9 months and Damascus can't issue a visa in that period!! lol.....Damascus lamasab bodo!

I don't think so because , my sponsorship approval; letter clearly stated " file will be transferred to Damascus" for further processing...but ive heard that some files have been sent to Ottawa Pilot office but still no word...

I know the whole process is very nerve-racking; however, there r other embassies worse than ours like Pakistan and U.A.E.........
Don't u worry, all this unrest in Syria will force Damascus either to speed up the process or to transfer the files. And both scenarios r good!

You guys, I got an email from the embassy on the 12th of January (I've already shared the content)... But the reason why
I'm bringing this up is because they specifically said that all communications must occur with them solely in Damascus and not any other neighboring VOs. So let's just wait and see. I know it's been hard couple of weeks for us, especially after the good news that we got in the final weeks of 2011 (i.e, many people went green). This is our frustration talking, let's hope for a better next couple of weeks.

OF COURSE NOT! It's not like the new embassy says ok so i don't care what kind of background check Damascus did, i'll be doing mine! Lol! It won't be restarted!
Siavash is right, if any kind of transfer happens they will let us know, so let's just wait. Specially that people have been requested for re-medicals and they have been asked to send the results to Damascus, this wouldn't make sense if they were going to do some transferring ...

No Ayad,

The time which is passed is counted in. If someone has waited for 8 months and then his file is transferred they will continue from that point and not from the scratch. Btw, the files ARE NOT transferred yet. I don't know it is a good thing or a bad thing that the files r still in Damascus but if there is going to be any change of situation it will be at the end of Jan and there will be an OFFICIAL STATEMENT in Damascus website.......

Exactly!!!! makes absolute sense, which is absolutely my case.

i'm sorry if anyone is annoyed abt the personal situations but let me try to explain smthg: first, we all go through the same thing and it is a public forum, so with whom can u talk or share or ask smthg then with ppl who understand???!!!!!!! second, yes some situations might seem personal but we learnt from other ppl personal experience in the past (thanks to kamal) and so i hope other future members will learn from ours in the future (even if it's just abt how to pass all this)...if some ppl would give advice to others just by PM than what would the next group know?! some ppl like to chat, some don't, some they want to make new friends some r here just to compare dates we r all different; u just take the good and the bad; by the way there r technical ways to search keywords in a page without reading the whole content (ctrl-f)
as for the previous question, there's another member whose wife made her second medical in Montreal, i think substone?! see how things worked for them...also, yeah we put Damascus as vo but the medicals were sent to london (where they r usually sent from here); i think it's pretty common when u do the medicals in a placefar from the vo; when u send the email with the attach green sheet explain to them where u took the medicals and where they were sent; if they know the place and they know ur medical record number, they should track it, no? (that's my common sense talking) (we r far from that point but that's what i would do!)

I was in no way talking about the process or when people post about the process. but people have been talking about economy and politics (aside from syria), that is what I meant that those can be sent personally. Again I don't mean to offend anyone, all I am saying is there should be some relevance kept to the topic (the origin of the forum title) to an extent. And I do like reading every post that is relevant to the general public perception because like you said I along with you is trying to collect new information about this process, so control f doesn't work too well in that case .

No way, I think everyone on this forum will probably go stand outside the embassy protesting this if that happened. lol.

Also I think they are working like mohammed123 had said his friend's wife got her visa. So they are working just on other peoples applications, I guess.

Also it's the 18th so we should hear an official statement within the next 10 days hopefully to the situation in Syria's VO.

well im really getting sick and tired off waiting and for those that have been waiting 8 months for the visa i dont know how u have done it but im losing my mind and i havint seen my wife for 7 months tomrrow and i am about to blow up... RESPECT for the that have been waiting for so long.. one more thing is there anyone in the forum that is born in iraq(dohuk) but moved t canada in 1992 and been living here since i live in saskatwan i am a canadian citizen...???? i just want to know if anyone else falls under my catagory..?
