dear guys

Please Don't make any rumor.....it is just rumor.

i called to embassy and they said me ...NOT AT ALL ..they are not gonna transfer sponsorship application.. she emphasized again..all of application are in heree and gonna finalize them in office...

i don't know why ......is gonna broadcast fake news ?
usually from what others said before: first the embassy has to be closed (which is obviously NOT) and then if it's a long term closure they will transfer the files if it's just temporary short closure (a few days, weeks, who knows?!) they won't
anyway, i don't think what HAB said it's fake either; it's just each one of u probably talked with another person, and obviously they don't know themselves what's happening next; nothing is clear and certain for them either
conclusion: nothing is sure until u get an official letter, advising that the transfer took place!! they SHOULD send these letters; so no official letter (email) = no transfer ;)

You guys I'm panicking right now because I have received the following email from the embassy on the 12th:
This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. Please send the following documents:

- Take new medical exam. You can visit one of our Designated Medical Doctors to pass medical exam (List attached). Once done, please send us copy of the green medical slip (IMM1017 Medical Report -Section A) either by mail or scanned by email.

All documents, in a language other than English or French must be accompanied by original certified translations into English or French, except the passport.

Please note that if you do not comply with this request within 30 days of the date of this letter, your application for permanent residence in Canada will be assessed on the basis of the information already before the officer. Failure to provide the requested documents could result in the refusal of your application.

Please note: It is your responsibility to ensure that the information you provide our office is accurate and up-to-date. Please inform us immediately if there are any changes to the information or documents you have submitted. If there is a change in your legal status or that of any family member (marriage, birth, death, divorce, etc.) you must notify us before visas are printed.

All correspondence/documents must be sent directly to the Canadian Embassy in Damascus at the address indicated above. DO NOT send or submit any documents to our offices in Amman, Beirut or Tehran. Any correspondence you send to these offices will be returned to you.

Your file is being processed in Damascus. No representations, faxes, telephone calls or correspondence can or will be answered by these Embassies; all inquires must be sent directly to the visa office in Damascus.

Please quote your file number, as well as your telephone & email address on all correspondence and on every document you send to us.

Regards,

Immigration Section / AKH

I know this is a GENERIC email sent to people with almost expired medicals but, I don't think that they would specifically mention that I should send to Syria when files are processed elsewhere. On another note, how can 2 people call the embassy and get absolutely contradicting answers??????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Would that mean that my file is almost done or irrelevant? Does anyone know how long would it take from now?
dear my friend..

i never tell anybody , i m brave or i have extra power..but please subtilize ...im never say u ..i called to embassy and asked them private question about my file...as i told u before even my wife and myself tried for asking about our file and they said us...sorry we can not give u any information ...but if u wanna ask them generall question ..they will answer to u very pleasure ...ok? so i don't have any idea about your case...

agreed. Especially for those who are at the beginning of the road or even have less than 8-9 months it would probably be a good news, those who are very close will suffer an extra month or so delay.

why u panic....they ask for new medical exam = they r probably ready to issue ur visa (or one step closer)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yaaaaaaay....just follow their instructions, send the green paper to Damacus by DHL (so it arrives fast), also send it attached to email (good quality scan) and relax!!!! think of the present day not tomorrow or next month (don't send the documents in a place they didn't ask u to send); if they have updates they will tell u officially, like they just did :)

I definitely think this is good news! just send in the sheet as they have requested and hopefully your visa will follow shortly:) if files are transferred I'm sure the medical office in Paris would know what to do.... this has happened at other embassies, we aren't the first files to be transferred... if that ends up being the case ::)

no problem :) i don't know really, me i tend to overdo things, so i would send it by mail and also email the scan; emailing the scan should be enough especially considering the current difficult circumstances....and if i remember correctly sohrab too was saying that emailing the scan is enough, as long as they can clearly see the record id, and any important info :)

Simply follow the instruction which mentioned in the email and send the document to Syria, first send by email and then send by a courier for your convenience.
Did they ask only for medical?

Yea, that's the whole email they sent me. Only for medicals. I know some people sent new police certificates but they haven't asked for one.

beirut and amman don't do immigration stuff right now as far as i know and ankara has a processing time of 5 months! woohoo! and i don't believe it's like if they transfer our files the new embassy will start working on them from the very beginning! the same work and procedure will be continued but in at least 67% decrease in work load! i'm happy about this news actually!
and i agree with arezoo, i think iranian files will go to ankara, since we don't need a visa for going to turkey ... :)
we haven't had anyone passport requested in january yet, have we? maybe they have started transferring from the beginning of the new year, but they will definitely inform us when they're done i believe.
also i wanna say congratulations to iranians for the golden globe we won last night! woohoo! :D
yeah it could mean good news, to be honest though i wouldnt 100 % trust the people who answer the phones, some receptionists act like VO and give out false info just to hang up, i remember a few times they told me DONT DO MEDICAL AGAIN it will hurt your case looool, anyways i am sure we will all find out , ill try and see how genuine this news really is but even if its true i think its positive for everyone, its not like everyone's timeline will be RESET to 0 loool hahaa

guys i called a few peers and they said its bogus, the embassy isnt allowed to transfer files unless instructed by the immigration department at the foregin affairs office and there is no such notice about closure of the embassy or transfer of files, only the old notes about some files ending up in ottawa and the workers class to quebec, thats it.... so yeah i think the lady at the embassy had too many coffee's lol
