Hey guys

I am Iranian national (male). applied for my wife's sponsorship immigration to Ankara. They have started processing our application on Feb 16th 2013 (the time they received our application at Ankara). Based on your experiences and thoughts, how long would it take to receive VISA to canada?
I am PR and have submitted my grant of citizenship application last year. Does that affect the processing times?

Any reply would greatly be appreciated.

I have a question - My husband has his ticket booked for March 25th....umm and we got ppr on March 6th. is that enough time for Visa to get issued....am I missing something here? I thought the wait is over....but I see ppl with ppr but not yet landed in Canada, I am confused. I thought this is it

Youncan land as soon as the visa is issued in ur passport... I think for some people its just a matter of packing up their lives and immigrating...but for sure thats plenty of time

@Mary: We have totaly paid 1040$ (for processing sponsorship application, principal applicant fee, and the PR acquisition fee) is that all we needed to pay?

Once the passports are requested for final stage (VISA stamp) we should physically go there to Ankara or we can post the passport to the embassy?

If we should go there physically, do they give us the VISA back within 1-2 days? I am asking this to see if we can directly land to Canada right after VISA is obtained from embassy in Ankara?

Checking the EXCEL sheet, I have seen people got to the final stage in 6-7 months, are they lucky ones or they were special cases? how come they got to that stage so fast while others wait up to 13-14 months?

No, you shouldn't go there personally, there are agents in Iran that charge you something and send your passportr there..My husband went himself, but there are people in this forum who send it through agents....

When you go there, you will submit your passport between 8:30-10 and you will get it a day after at 2 p.m.

Well, when it comes to immigration procees, there are no rules and policies, it is all about luck...for some people it took them 5-6 months, and we had someone who had to wait 26 months...I personally waited for 15 months from the day the embassy received my documents....

We paid an agency and someone is picking up our passport from Ankara..we are suppose to get it back in a week. As you have stated some ppl had to only wait 5 or 6 months for their ppr....they are either really lucky or they might be from Quebec..which is generally a faster process. since they speak french and so they are special......it took us 10 months since file number. that being said Ankara is working a lot harder now than they did in the beginning of last year...so u r in good hands.

I am sure it will take less time,,,but believe or not it will happen when you don't expected, I am still shocked I used not to believe this when other people were saying it while the received that golden email...but I tell you, you will get it sooner than what you expect...I think you should get it in a month time maximum...
