Hello folks,
I have a question:
If the embassy sends you a PPR inshallah, can you ask someone else to collect the Visa for you? Does the passport holder have to sign a special document for that? Which one is faster, send it by courier direct to the embassy or send the passport for someone and ask him to send it back to you?

as far as i know applicants whose files handles by Ankara VO obviously it would be faster if the applicants go there directly but in ur case u get a better answer if u ask it from those whose files handled by Aman VO, good luck bud

Well, the thing is that from the very beginning, the status of my husband's application has been "Application Received" and mine (sponsor) as "Application Received" and "Decision Made". Nothing has changed ever since. I believe two of the people who filed the application close to ours, had the status of their application changed in "in process" shortly thereafter .... it just makes me worried ...
i am in the same situation as you. nothing has changed for two months

dear nilu, they send my application on March,14 to Ankara VO and notified me via email, and updated the file into "in process" i think on June18. so almost 3 months after they transfered my file 2 Ankara, they updated the file. May i ask u when u applied and when they transfered ur file 2 Ankara?

Re: In process list

Well, as you might have read by now in this thread, most couples from Iran waited more than a year (in some cases even more than 16 months) to receive their PR. So I'm not holding my breath ... I am just trying to practice patience. It does not seem we will receive any reply from Ankara any time soon. There are lots of people waiting ahead of us. I know how frustrating it is to wait and wait and wait and check your email and ecas every day in hope of some news, some thing from Ankara ... but what can we really do??? Let's share the progress of our files and hopefully we would be luckier and the progress of our files speedier. :)

hi thanks for your response
when did u send your files?
also today i sent them an email asking in regards to the ecas and it not being updated. i just got an email on may 4th saying that ive been aproved and they are forwarding everything to ankara. but havent heard anything else
but it says the processing time is 6 months. so i really dont know
its becoming really stressful and frustrating.
our medical results will also be expiring soon so i dont know what is going to happen with that
i sometimes wonder if it is because the citizenship is iranian it is taking longer

becuase i have friends who applied last year and with in 3 months their spouses were in canada
it must be just our luck

Niloo jaan, I don't know whether you are sponsoring your husband or vice versa. But I've read somewhere that background check for men takes longer than the women. So for someone like me who is sponsoring her spouse, it might take longer than someone who is sponsoring his wife. I'm not a 100% sure about this one: I've read that it might take a little bit longer for spouses who live together (my case) to receive their PRs than who are living apart. So these things might have some effect on the progress of your file. We'll see.

oh in that case...i am sponsoring him...he is currently in Iran...coming up in august it will be a year that we have been apart...ive kept hoping that he will get his visa so i dont have to travel back...but by the looks of it..nothing is going to happen anytime soon

but you are right...ive heard that if you live together in the same country it takes longer to process...
oh well
i guess this game is going to go on for a while
ive heard they are craking down on made up marriages...but ive sent so much documentation that i hoped it wouldnt take that long
but it didnt occur to me that they do the background check

do u know what the chances of being interviewed are? are there alot of people who bypass the interview?

Re: In process list

Not sure, but it seems that the 6-month period is for the Turkish citizens and it takes longer for the non-Turks. I have not heard any Iranian here who has received his/her PR within 3 months. They might have been non-Iranians (Philippines, India, etc.). You can take a quick look at the chart on the bottom of one of the members here (it used to be Arezoo, but she left for Canada, so I'm not sure who is in charge right now... it might be Raha, who is updating the chart) and make a quick comparison regarding the length of processing time.

Hello,
If I read correctly you said you were approved as sponsor on may 4. Your ecas should say application received on xxxxxxxx. This is the day you start counting your "in process" step one (for sponsorship approval) and step 2 (processing in Ankara) are 2 completely different steps. So you would be roughly 2.5 - 3 months in process.
The 6 months is how long it took to finalize applications in the same time frame last year. Since then, Damascus and Tehran have closed and transferred all their files to turkey creating a backlog. Have you taken a look at the chart... I think the least time it took for someone recently is 8 months but most of us are at 12+ months. Our application was received in Damascus in April 2011, transferred to turkey in feb 2012 and just a few days ago (after 14.5) months in process our ecas changed to in process. I think you probably have a bit of a wait, but I hope you don't wait too long:)

Re: In process list

You are very welcomed. I believe the chance of Ankara interviewing your husband is quite slim, but you never know ... if your marriage is genuine, which I'm sure it is, there is no reason to be worried ... Don't give yourself extra stress. It is stressful enough to wait ...

i just thought when it says six months by then a desicion will be made
