Law biwazzfouni bel safara I promise you I will work night and day...........

Ma ba3rif I feel that the same team who is working on issuing the medical exam paper will be working on finalizing the file... If this is the case, then we need to wait for them to reach their targets and then switch gears to file closing. Again, this is a feeling and not sure if it might be true...

Each officer has a pile of files they work on....so they are not sharing all files, they each have their own loads.....that's why some people receive medicals and updates before others. Each file is given a BFD when updates are received. For example, when updated documents are received, the officer will assign a BFD to your file and will open your file on that day and may choose to send the medical. Once they send out your medicals, they assign a new BFD... that's how file move from one stage to another. A BFD is a reminder for the officer to open the file, and decide whether they should proceed with asking for updates, medicals etc.

My next BFD is on Sept. 12, and if the background/security checks are in, the officer will issue the PPR. If they are not in yet, he will assign a new BFD. That's how the MP has explained it to me.

It is great to read this, thank you for sharing. How would one get information about his BFD?

Through ordering the immigration file notes or through an MP (if you have someone living in Canada). However, if you order the CAIPS notes, it takes 30 days and things may have changed in the meantime...which is what happened to me. So it's not 100% reflective of the current state of your file, but it gives you an idea.

But if your file is moving at a normal speed, I wouldn't waste time and money on it just yet. I get it once in a while, because it's only $5 to get them since I live in Canada. Otherwise, you will need to pay $45 + for this service through a 3rd party company if you don't know anyone in Canada.
