Dakar, Senegal applicants

Hello everyone! I've noticed that there's no thread for Dakar so I'd like to start one.

Dakar handles permanent residence immigration applications for the following countries: Burkina-Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Guinea (except refugees), Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal.

Who has experience with Dakar? We just applied last month, so we're waiting for our Stage 2 AOR right now. CIC website shows 25 months but obviously we're hoping for a lot less!

I'm from Mali and I I'm doing outside so going through Dakar as well but i sent my application beginning of November so waiting for the first stage approval then hoping for a fast process in Dakar!

Hi there, I'm glad I found this post. JoeUH you're right, no one really talks about us Senegal applicants but we're still out there!

We are being processed through the office in Dakar, as my husband is from Cameroon. The Mississauga office received our application September 23 2011, and we got approved as a sponsor November 25 2011 - so 63 days later. Since then...we have not heard a thing. Very discouraging but since the waiting time is 25 months, and we're just over 13 months, it is still well within the time frame.

That's really a long time and I somehow regret why I chose that visa office when I coulda picked one in the states or Ottawa. But we just pray n hope god is good!
Did you see any change on ur ecas so far?

Does anyone have any updates? We haven't seen our ecas change, we're still on application received. Has anyone had any contact with the Dakar VO?

Application received October 2011. Ecas states application received.

We heard back from Dakar last month, after we asked, that they have received our file and are currently working on applications received in December 2011.

Hi everyone, my husband (in Cameroon) and I got an email March 12 requesting another medical and his passport etc. so we're just waiting to get it back with the visa so we can finally book his ticket to come!

Our wait time since sponsor approval was 15 months and 3 weeks. It was long, but we're thankful things are finally moving along.

I applied to sponsor my Senegalese husband on June 27th 2012, I got approved as a sponsor in September. I heard nothing for almost a year. This morning (june 10th, 2013) I got an email requesting my husband go for another medical since his had expired and get new police reports and do all that and then submit his passport which will be returned in 6-8 weeks. Does this mean that they wil give him his PR visa stamp in that time frame? :'(

I hope so! It would be a dream come true!

yes I think between 6-8 weeks your passport will be returned to you based on the date they will receive your package.

you said you sent your application on June 27th, 2012. When did CIC receive you application. (just to have an idea on your timeline) thank you.

ok but now I just heared that all VO out of canada are in strike so it might take longer for all of us for our application to be process :'(
