Hi Doublel2016

Dakar takes between 2 weeks to 6 weeks to issue visas. It varies with each application and officer.
Just be patient. Give them another two weeks max and you should hear from them.

Same here, we got PPR and asked to redo medical on november 1st. She sent the medical and the information sheet and the passport on the 10th (all through yaoundé CRDV). It has been 3 weeks and we haven't heard back. I know it has been at least a week that mycic shows Medical Done, but it is still showing Decision not made and Background in progress. I don't know why it is taking so much time.
This morning myCic finally went to Application Approved. So 5 weeks from sending the requested passport to finally have app approved and background pass. Although 5 weeks included the time to review the new medical results. Hopefully we receive it in a couple of days.

we got app approved december 16th at dakar, and receive the passport back at yaounde CRDV december 22nd and my wife landed dec 27th.
(PPR+re-medical nov 1st, and we sent it from yaounde nov 10th)

landing in montreal took a long time for the queue. at least an hour and half or two hour just to get our number called (when we arrived at immigration we had ticket 171 as they just called number 105)

landing in montreal as a non-quebecer was not a problem. They have a canadian desks, and then once you deal with them if you are going to quebec you need to wait again until quebec desks calls your number. Making the PR itself (from getting called to the canadian desk to having the paper ready) only took a short time. having BSF186 aka B4 did help in speeding up processing. If you don't present it, they assume you don't have it. They pre-fill part of the form and then, from what i overheard of another client, they ask how much clothing you have, what is the worth in canadian currency, which I think is a burden to do on the spot. As i knew of the form we had already filled it while waiting on the plane. i asked my wife the worth of various stuff in CFA and then I converted it on the form. We did not had any trouble with jewellery all grouped together, although it did not amount to a big amount. i guess more expensive jewels could need more paperwork.

you don't have your checked baggage when landing, you land first with only your cabin bags, and after your are done with immigration control you can pick up your checked bags and leave through customs control.

My husband's passport has been in Dakar for 7 months now...next week it will be two months... I am desperate now i don't know what to do. Do u think there is a problem?a

Dakar seems to be very busy now. I know a few people who have been waiting for more than six weeks now. They are probably working on Student visas. My friend just got her Student visa yesterday. So just stay calm. Am sure they will get back to you after they settle in from the Christmas break.
You can also write to them asking why the delay. Am sure they will reply. Even if they don't you have nothing to lose.

Patience is key my dear. I know how difficult it is to wait but try not to get frustrated with the wait.
All the best
