Hi
Just let you hnow some people in Dakar are at 17 months others 10 months
It was fast in 2015 but not in 2016
Good luck to all

Routine files for Dakar are 8-10 months. All files that take longer than 10 months are non- routine files. The process is faster in 2016 if you file is without complications and interview.

I got my CSQ yesterday, it took about 5 weeks. Now off to a long wait...

Congrats on receiving your CSQ. I am still waiting for mine. I applied less than 3 weeks ago so I still have to wait 3 more weeks. The wait is just so annoying but no choice.

What is CSQ? Is that something specific for Quebec?

It is the French Acronym for Quebec Selection Certificate. Yes, it is specific to Quebec applicants.

Hi All,

Applied for my wife (in Dakar) below is my timeline:

-Application received on March 17, 3016
-AOR1: April 09, 2016

Thank you

Hello everyone.

I filed my application for permanent residence under the FSW program on January 4th 2016 and my visa office is Dakar too. I received a passport request letter 3 days ago, just crossing my fingers for some positive news in the weeks ahead. I have been unable to post my timeline on my profile so far

Congrats! That was really fast. Those of us for FAM sponsorship have to wait longer.

Hi people
I applied to sponsor my hubby on October 22 2015
I received CSQ for my hubby February 05 2016
Till now no update from Dakar visa office
All sides on the online application status shows in progress since December 31 2015
Dakar started processing my application for permanent residence dec 31 2015
I just confused if this is a good or bad sign as I haven't heard a word or email from this visa office
It's so slow and the wait is silently killing me.
Can someone please tell me what to expect or if my application is safe.
Thanks for ur replies

It is just standard procedure from Dakar. Dakar received mine on Dec 18, 2015 and nothing since. I ordered my notes and Dakar hasn't touched it since they received it.

No news is good news. The next you hear from them should be passport request. Just be patient. Give it about 9-10 months for Decision made.

Thanks deffy and seuldan for the quick response
Hoping for the best and wish us all the best as we wait.

The timeline is ridiculously(and painfully) long. As far as i'm concerned, i just try to forget about it and go about my daily routines. The sad part is there's nothing we can do but wait

Hello everyone

Interesting update guys. I got the link below from another thread indicating that as of May 26 2016, we will be able to see real time details on our FAM sponsorship application. So no more GCSM notes. This will definitely make the waiting process bearable.
