Hi everyone!

I am starting a new thread for anyone who has filed for spousal sponsorship in 2016 through the Dakar visa office.

My application: (I am the sponsor, and husband is from Senegal!)
AOR1: March 11th
Spousal approval/documents sent to Dakar: March 17th

Please share your experiences/questions here!

Hello, It's nice to see another Dakar applicant.

I am sponsor (wife is in Cameroon)
AOR March 15th
Still waiting on SA, and trying not to panic for it is taking more time than others.

Good Luck to 2016 Dakar VO applicants.

The process is now very fast...for a straight forward application.

My application was sent in November 2015 and was transferred to Dakar at the end of Jan 2016. I am hoping there is no interview because my wife lives in the US

Hello Everyone, I am happy to be on this forum. I am the sponsor and my husband is in Cameroon. My application was received on Jan 22nd 2015. SA issued on March 15th. PR application receive January 22nd. Started processing March 24th. Does anyone know whay it changed to in process so fast? Based on the comments I have read so far on this forum, most application took a couple of months to change to inprocess. Is this a good sign that the process will go by really fast?

Your input will be highly appreciated

Thanks

I'm not entirely sure of that, I'm hoping this means everyone's applications will be done faster! Here's to hoping! Good luck everyone! I know one girl who works with immigration and she said that processing times should be much faster with the new government- but who knows!

That is Dakar's way of giving AOR. They change it to in process when they receive the file in Dakar.

I learned DVO doesn't send AOR so maybe you are right. Here's to hoping that in process actually means that they have actually started processing the application. Is there any Dakar applicant who applied in January who has medical results received (upfront)?

We applied at the very end of January. When I was able to check the status online (in March) I saw that it's was recorded that the medical results were already received. (We sent them in with the application).

Okay. Does your application also indicate that it is in process? My husband's PR application has two status

1) we received xxxxxxxxxx application on Jan 22nd 2016
2) we stated processing xxxxxxx application on March 24th

I do not have the " we received your medical results" yet. I am hoping it will be next.

I think the whole process is really fast now. I know someone who went through the whole process in 8 months.

Good luck to everyone.

Yes, mine looks almost identical to that, but also has
3. Medical results have been received.

Good luck to you! Wow 8 months, that would be nice!!!

Glad to see a forum for Dakar Applicants, let's keep it alive cause all the other ones are barely updated. i'm a November 2015 applicant from Quebec, file has been transferred to Dakar and i'm currently waiting on my CSQ. Hope the process goes smooth for all of us.

Yeah! It is really good to be on this forum. I am also based in Quebec and waiting for QSC as well. File is currently in Dakar. January Applicant. I learned the process is pretty fast right now since the backlog in Dakar has been cleared. Hope for an 8 months completion.

I got my CSQ yesterday, it took about 5 weeks. Now off to a long wait...
