Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi,

I'm going through my time cards right now to calculate my eligible experience as I'm working part time.

Everything looks good, although I noticed I have one shift keyed in from 9:30AM - 4 AM (18 hours!). I looked at a pay stub from that pay period and it looks like I was paid for it, too.

I don't remember working an 18 hour shift, ever, so it may just be a typo.

Whether I count the 18 hours or just 6 (9:30AM - 4 PM), it was a full time week for me either way.

Should I be concerned about this?

Count it as 6 hrs to be on safer side.

Good call. I'll write a note next to that shift, saying "shift was supposed to be from 9:30AM-4PM; counting only 6 hours".

Thanks SXD :)

CIC do not consider overtime when they count hours so put it down as your regular shift.
What do you mean by overtime? I'm a part timer so my hours vary. And besides, you can't count any weekly hours in excess of 30 anyway.

No Overtime on a Daily Basis

Unless a contract of employment or a collective agreement states otherwise, an employee does not earn overtime pay on a daily basis by working more than a set number of hours a day. Overtime is calculated only:

on a weekly basis
or
over a longer period under an averaging agreement
Here's an example on how to calculate overtime hours from governments website.
Any hours worked over 44 in a week are overtime hours. Ravi worked nine hours of overtime (53 - 44 = 9).

Hey, did they find a reason why they rejected you to begin with?

I'm asking since I have few paychecks below 30 hours a week, would it be ok to apply or wait to get more weeks?

I'd wait just to be on the safe side, although if you've been working for more than a year everything should balance itself out.

And I did find out. It seems that they made a mistake and thought I had experience until 2012 and not the year that's mentioned like a million times in my application - 2013.
