CV/Resume request from IRCC

Hi. We recently got a request from IRCC to submit a resume from the applicant. I am wondering is that a requirement for a spousal sponsorship application. Anyone who has gotten a similar request. or if this is normal procedure. We are getting a bit worried.

They sometimes request this. As far as I can tell, it doesn't in itself indicate something is wrong, but that the officer thinks that a resume/cv in normal (not form-based) format will be easier to understand and make use of than the standard forms. Perhaps in particular there are dates of employment/study that on the electronic forms are confusing or perhaps don't quite line up. (My editorial comment is that sometimes applicants get themselves tied in knots about part-time things, student stuff, etc, whereas on a resume overlaps aren't that uncommon)

But recently, I got request from IRCC to submit my wife's(principal applicant) indepth CV/ resume. Please if anybody can let me know who has gone through similar situation. Is this a thing to worry?

Read the two posts above this. It's not that rare. It's not necessarily something to worry about.

I understand it may be hard to speculate, but does anyone know what the quickest turnaround for reviewing a document request like this?
We got the same request and while there were no errors in the original submission, there was an overlap of study and work periods. Hopefully, the resume clears up the confusion their own form caused.

we got the same CV request for my husband yesterday. Do we have to write formal Resume or explain any gaps that might have caused any sort of confusion for them.

No, I haven't yet. My consultant is working on it. I just gave him a synopsis of my husband's education and employment history. I'll keep you posted if anything comes up.

I got the same request from IRCC. CV/Resume, my mother is the principal applicant. She has long been retired, my mother is 81 y/o -

Since resumes aren’t really my thing, I ended up getting help from https://craftresumes.co/ and it made a huge difference in how confident I felt sending it in. They made it look professional, lined up everything properly, and even helped tailor it in a way that felt more like a formal background summary than a job application. I’ve also used them for LinkedIn updates and other stuff and they’re solid when it comes to getting through those annoying ATS systems or just making things sound better. If anyone’s unsure what IRCC is really asking for, a clean and well-written resume like the one I submitted seems to do the trick without overcomplicating things.
