So I got my visa and letter or Introduction and my employer just booked my flight for Oct 15th as followed:

Depart Mexico City (MEX) 06:15 AM
Arrive Vancouver (YVR) 10:00 AM
Depart Vancouver (YVR) 12:25 PM
Arrive Edmonton (YEG) 02:55 PM

From Mexico City to Edmonton there is a 2hr and 25min stop over in YVR. These are my questions:

Am I suppose to wait in the plane till take off again? If Im suppose to get off, am I suppose to go through Customs and Immigration for my work permit or will I be asked to wait in the lobby till take off to my final destination and get my work permit in Edmonton? How long will it take for them to issue me my work permit?

Based on my experience you have to pass to immigration to get your initial work permit. Your port of entry is Vancouver so every time they ask you when/where is your first land in Canada it's Vancouver. How long??? It depends. Some needs to wait for 30 min to 2 hours. Or you can be at first in line. So really depends on the volume of passengers.

Agreed. You will be going through customs / immigration and receiving your work permit in Vancouver.

Can you tell me how it went? What kind of questions did Immigration ask you?

based from my experience at Calgary airport... the immigration officer asked me the ff:
1. documents (letter from the embassy to be presented at the port of entry, lmo, passport)
2. questions pertaining to your travel/entry to canada (purpose, where you will stay, etc)

just relax and be calm... just answer straight to the point...

if you look suspicious to the eye of the immigration officer.. expect a lot of questions...

goodluck!

Yeah, I reviewed a few sites. Turns out there pretty basic questions and because I have all proper docs I will be fine. Just that I fly this monday and I wanted to make sure I have everything down. But thank you for your reply :)

These are the docs Im taking with me:
Passport and ID
Letter of Intro
LMO
Emp. Contract
