Hi all,

I've been working in Canada for the past 6 months on a 2 year renewable work permit visa (LMIA Exempt) and i want to apply for Express Entry.
The IRCC website states that i do NOT need PoF if:
However while filling the online EE form, it asks for how much i'll bring into Canada which is where i'm at a loss.

Please has someone gone through this before or can someone give more information how to handle this part of the EE application because i don't have the required funds but i have a job (NOC AB)?

Assuming you're working on an employer specific work permit - then you do not have a valid job offer yet.

Thank you for the speedy response. Yes, I'm on an employer-specific WP. According to the CIC site on valid job offers this appears to be the most relevant to me:

if you have a valid work permit for a NOC 0, A or B job that is exempt from needing an LMIA, and you:
  • are currently working for an employer specified on the work permit
  • have one year of full-time work experience (or an equal amount of part-time work) for that employer
  • have a valid job offer from that employer for at least one year after we issue your permanent resident visa
For #3 above, do i need my employer to issue me a NEW offer letter compliant with the requirements of ESDC?
What's your general advise for EE considering my current scenario?

For #3 you need a letter which follows IRCC's requirements - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/become-candidate/eligibility/offer-employment.html

As you do not currently have a valid job offer you cannot claim the 50 points given for arranged employment and if you apply via the FSW program you will have to show proof of funds.
