Hello folks,

I have posted on here before and had much success, so I am posting again hoping for some advice on this matter.

I have received a visitor extension until October 2015 to continue my stay in Canada while my LMIA is being approved.
I have to leave Canada for a wedding and I wanted to know where to file my TRV.

My Dilemma:

When filing a TRV in Canada I can only do so if i have a valid study or work permit.

However, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5256ETOC.asp#5256E3 states that I MUST apply using the inside Canada checklist.

I will be making the application online and with a tight deadline, I would appreciate positive feedback.

thank you folks

1. You would have to supply an overseas address to apply for the TRV. The application would then be processed in the office responsible for that country. You should be using the IMM 5257

Thanks PMM, but being an Indian citizen I would have to send my passport to isnt that true?

And they would return my passport to this overseas address as well, which means it may be best to explain that I am in Canada and looking to travel to India (my home country) once the TRV is issued. I would go with the passport and collect the stamp for a smooth process.

cheers!

1, They won't send a passport overseas from INdia as it is illegal.
2. You are probably going to have to apply with your address in India, and when there, if the application is approved send your passport via VFS or directly. The processing time is anywhere from 6 - 15 days,

Hi newcecapplicant,

I am exploring an option of visiting Canada as a visitor and search job. Can you advise if this will work for.
Thanks
