I also agree that they have not stopped processing as I've seen 1 case here in the forums whose case has been processed recently and received passport request in March 2010.

I've been advised by my lawyer to wait till end of june, and then we can send another status query by then.

I'm not really convinced that processing for new FSW is really stopped in damascus, rather i would agree that it is slow.I wouldn't even expect that they send as well new FSW to other visa offices like warsaw!!

I know its bit challenging to wait but i think this is the only option we have till now!!

Yes Another case in this Forum is LFer from Lebanon as well who recieved his Medicals requests couple of weeks ago, Apparently he sent all supporting docs to CHC back in June 2009, so processing is pretty much ongoing but slow.

Thanks to mbastudies and hassan for their comments.

For sure FSW processing is not fully stopped. The thing is that the processing speed is unusually slow (ALMOST stopped).
There is a HUGE GAP between the estimation of 80% within 6 months (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/international/02b-skilled-fed.asp) and what we observe these days. I think this estimation is not for all the cases but only for cases whose processing have started.

For example if there are 10,000 cases in queue, processing of only 100 may be done in 2009 and 80% of them were processed within 6 months. So what we really have is 80/10,000 cases were processed in 6 months. The actual speed then would be 0.08% not 80%.

If that is the case, our case processing may take ages. I still suggest we ask CIC (www.cic.gc.ca) and not the VO to address this issue.
This is the least we can do. If there is any other idea, please suggest.

You are right to say that the percentages are based on the cases processed in 2009. Yet, based on the email that we have all received from VO, the processing should not take more than12 months, right? Even they have mentioned if we didn't hear from them after 12 months, we must contact them. I believe you must have received similar email/message from VO.

Thanks for your helpful information.
I have received an email from CIO (1st AOR) but no email from VO yet.
Does the VO send a separate email form CIO as well?
How long will it take to receive that email from the VO from the date your docs reaches them?

Guys,

as I said before, member that you have refered (LFr) has sent his supporting documents in June 2009 but at least it maybe just one or two members their Ecase changed to " in process" after June 2009 ( This is slowest VO in the world !! it likes to stop processing).

I agree with you to send query to CIC instead of Damascus VO. I have read in this forum, Cario office members have started to send their queries to CIC because new applicants have recieved AORs with 24 months processing time.

Hi arashtdii,

Let me explain how it usually works. Usually, when you submit your full documents to the visa office, they send an email (or in some cases confirmation by postal mail), confirming that they have received your documents and give you a NEW FILE Number. This is what is meant as 2nd AOR.
In my case, my initial visa office was somewhere else but they decided to transfer my files within 10-15 days after their submission to Damascus for the purpose of program integrity. Anyway, after about 15 days from my file transfer, I received an email from the VO where they gave me the new file number and told me not to contact them until I hear from them. They said that the process might take up to 12 months. In case I didn;t hear from them after that time period, I should contact them personally.

Haven't you received the 2nd AOR? I always thought you have!

@Vahid: Will you please be take the responsibility of finding the email/contact details of CIC where Cairo people inquired. Also could you please collect some detailed info on how Cairo applicants followed up the issue with CIC?

i applied under fsw catogory on may 2009,then they sent me a file number and a letter for sending my complete documents.i submitted my complete documents on july i got a second file number on august 2009.then onwards it showed received by visa office.july 2011 it started to show in process .after showing in process how many months it will take.i really worried about my application .it completed already 2 years after submitting my complete documents....when i applied my ielts was accademic.from 2010 june onwards it turned only general training.does it will badly affect my application..........?thanks in advance..

after more than 2 years now they have transferred my profile to Warsaw office, do you know how long it may take from now?
Does anybody got a visa with thecssme situation as mine?
