The official time is 12 months. The real time depends very much on which office processes your application and on security check clearances and your personal circumstances.

I plan to apply through Edmonton office and plan to send the fingerprint certificate with the application.
What you guys things about that?

You have to send your application to Sydney first. They will then send your application to the relevant office. Fingerprints are not always needed, if they need them they will inform you.

Thanks. but, for the worst case scenario, what if I send the fingerprint with the application so that if such will be needed, would there be not long delay right?

hmm, that is a good point. If you think that fingerprint thing will not take time after the submission, then I will not worry to send it with the application.

Save yourself the money. Wait for them to come back to you if they really needed it. Be patient...it can take up to 12 months.

The thing with CiC is that even if you send them fingerprints with your application they still could request you to do it again, and you ll end paying twice. My opinion, just follow the instruction, without farther flaging yourself... That could rise questions regarding why the person is so in rush of getting citizenship!

my wife applied on January 25th(received at Sydney), test in 5th April and oath on July 1. (Scarborough office).

If every thing is ok and application submitted accurately and if you are all honest then 4-5 months approximately...
