Hello,

For people who have already planned to land in Montreal with a flight landing during curfew time, will they be allowed to travel (by car) to their quarantine destination?
Do they have to bring a paper or authorization of some sort? Do you think there will be taxis available for them?
Who to call to get more info?

Thanks

It is my spouse who is coming and now I could not get a friend to pick her up.
I am worried police will stop her to ask question and even more worried that when she arrives there will be no transportation service or very expensive transportation available.

The Quebec government released a list of exceptions to the curfew today:
https://www.quebec.ca/en/health/health-issues/a-z/2019-coronavirus/confinement-in-quebec/#c81010

One of them is:
  • a person returning home on a night flight from a work-related trip abroad;
I thought "work-related" is oddly specific, so I don't know what's the rule when your flight was not work related. But if it was work related, you're definitely covered by this exception. I would guess you should just carry some proof then.

Flight lands after curfew.
Is it all passengers that have to manage accordingly or is just me to manage according?

Right, thanks for the info.
I also just found further other grounds for breaking curfew based upon a news article (source: cbc.ca website):

Under the new rules, acceptable reasons for being outside include:
  • People going to and coming from work, or a work-related activity.
  • Parents picking up teenagers from work.
  • People going to or coming from an education activity at a recognized school such as a night class or lab.
  • People who work in the transportation of goods sector.
  • People who are providing necessary health services to someone else, or attending the bedside of a sick family member.
  • Driving someone to a medical appointment, either a child or someone who can't drive themselves.
  • People who require immediate medical attention, or have an appointment with a dentist or optometrist.
  • People who are dropping kids off to comply with a custody agreement or parental visitation.
  • People who are coming from or going to train stations or airports for travel.
  • People who are shopping for essential items that cannot be deferred (ex. pharmacies).
  • People who are walking their dog within one kilometre of their home.
