Cunfused about Job Title

Hope you are doing well.

I have a question. My friend studied in mechanical field in Canada. But now due to some basic knowledge and his interest, he has joined IT company and working as a Jr. Technician. According to him, his current job falls in NOC B category.

So, Is it compulsory that one should have the same filed job in which one has studied?
