Yes it still raises red flags. The biggest issue is that you have spent very little time together and didn’t even meet before getting married. Funds may still be an issue. The fact that you are much younger than your spouse and have different religions raise concerns who

My wife was a Christian previously, but in 2019 she converted to my religion. As my wife and I applied for a CUAET visa, we did not disclose our financial situation. Additionally, due to the challenging climate, isolation, and various other issues in Pakistan, it has been difficult for her to live in Pakistan. Consequently, we have decided to move to another country.

You may have to consider another country you’ll need to wait and see.

Yes we have seen many spouses of Ukrainians that have other citizenships experience much longer processing times. Had you been living in Ukraine before the war and where have you been living since then?
After a long waiting period (9 months) yesterday I received a "passport request" letter stating that my visa had been approved. I will hand over my passport on Monday. The process is very long and, as I understand it, there is a very serious research process. I got married on July 15, 2017 and since then, I have almost never been separated from my wife. And I have no criminal records and no financial convictions. I came for compulsory military service in 2021 to Turkey and returned from the military 6 months(January 17th 2022) later, and 1 month after I arrived, war broke out before I returned to Ukraine. The process is a very careful and detailed examination process. My wife and I chose the Ontario area at the time of application, which means we can only live there ?

No you aren’t limited to Ontario. You should have the funds to be able to secure housing for yourself (without employment and sometimes even with secured employment many are having to offer to pay 6 months in advance) or have housing arranged before coming to Canada. There are programs run by the Ukrainian diaspora that try to secure host families for people. Not sure how easy it is to secure a host family these days and in larger cities it may be more difficult because many don’t have extra space for longterm guests. Many from Ukraine discover on arrival that there is minimal affordable housing available (and lots of competition to secure any affordable housing) and shelters are full and that housing is very expensive and hard to secure. Many are actually leaving after discovering that the cost of living is too high. The fact that Canada is actually letting families that have non-Ukrainians citizens and have other safe options is pretty remarkable especially considering Canada has a huge housing crisis. If you have employment in Turkey, family and a good quality of life you need to think about why you are moving to Canada. If moving for safety then it makes sense but if you are moving for a better life you may not find that in Canada. Your previous work and education may not be recognized in Canada. Are both you and your parents wife working full-time? What type of careers do you have? For example if you work in IT then it will be easier to find employment in Canada but in other fields it may be much more difficult. Are you willing to start from scratch, perhaps go back to school, etc.? Would suggest doing a lot of research and speaking to Ukrainians who are currently living in Canada and those who arrived and left to get real time experience about moving to Canada. Canada is still a great country but at the moment it is facing a lot of challenges and many have unrealistic expectations.

have a relatively comfortable life in Turkey, I am a production manager in a medium-sized factory. But I don't care that much about money, as an unbelieving individual, I have no expectations from Canada except for security, peace and basic needs, and unfortunately they are not available here at the moment, it makes the most sense for us to live in Ukraine, but this is not possible at the moment. I have enough cash to rent an apartment over airnbn for 2 (1500CAD) months, pay the rent of a condo in advance for 6 months (1800-2000CAD) and enough cash to cover the food cost for 8 months (a total 500CAD for 2 people). I have no insistence on doing my profession in Canada. It can even be cleaning a toilet or washing dishes in a peaceful and safe city. What is your advice in this situation ?

So you are moving to Canada with those funds. Do you mean food costs of $500 per month for two people, and rent for a condo of $1800 per month? If not you under estimate costs. Where are you moving to?

Research based on your skills and cost of living. Most people cannot afford to live in Toronto. Finding housing will be your biggest challenge on that budget. Many people are looking for affordable housing in Canada.

How much cash are you coming with? For example $2500/month will not be sufficient for pretty basic needs in most parts of Canada. Do you have friends or family that can provide housing for you until you are able to secure housing for yourself? The government is providing 2 weeks of free housing but it is difficult to secure housing in 2 weeks especially something somewhat affordable in somewhat decent condition. Temporary housing Iike an Airbnb will be quite expensive. The housing market in Canada generally runs on a 60 day cycle where renters typically need to give notice of living 60 days in advance. When looking for somewhere to rent the apartments may only be available 4-8 weeks later. Then you also have the cost of furnishing a home. Even getting the basics like a mattress, towels, sheets, some dishes/pots & pans/ utensils, etc. will need to factor in your budget. You and your spouse may be happy each cleaning for 40hrs/week but if paid minimum wage you will struggle to afford the basics. Is your spouse planning on working full-time? Many are under the impression that women work in Canada because they want to be equal to men. That is often true but in the majority of cases women have to work because families needs 2 full-time incomes to afford a decent qualify of life and given the current cost of living a pretty basic quality of life. If one partner isn’t working then the other often needs to work a second job to provide the second income. Would suggest speaking to Ukrainians who have recently arrived to get a better idea of an actual realistic budget. Your current figures are underestimating. There is also no transportation budget (you will Leila be dependent on public transportation and will have to consider being close to public transportation when looking to rent), no phone or internet which are much more expensive than most of the world, no warm clothing which you May or may not have already, etc.

What do you recommend? And are the amounts I said low for Toronto? When I look at the internet, the condos appear between 1500-1800CAD in rentals.ca (for apartments with 1 room), I am trying to make a calculation accordingly. I calculated that there will be a kitchen cost such as 500CAD for 2 people, it may be 600CAD, no problem. Which city are you in?

I live outside Ottawa and there are very few rentals and if there are then it is about $2300-2500 per month. You also have to factor in transportation, utilities, phone, internet etc. Getting a place in Toronto for that cheap…good luck and without references.

Of course my wife and I will work too. I have 20000CAD cash available. After 10000CAD, I have the power to add another 1000CAD. I don't have a problem for small things like sheets, plates, pots, I have the power to take them too. What is the minimum wage in Canada and how much is it after taxes? Even if 2 people work with minimum wage, does a city like Toronto have a hard time? Or in cities like Ottawa, Edmonton ?

Do you have a recommendation? Or did you just come to tell me that everything is hard?

Living in almost any Canadian city with 2 salaries on minimum wage will be very difficult. Many would likely rely on charity for extra food. Your estimates for housing in Toronto are way too low. When I searched for one bedroom one bathroom in Toronto most listings were above $2500/month. For a very small studio probably 300 sq ft there was one listing for $1620 but the others were higher. Depending on the location there are better websites to find rentals. Although you may want to bring things like sheets, towels, kitchen utensils, etc. you will likely only be able to bring one suitcase of a certain weight or else see whether you can bring another bag and what will be the fee for extra bags and overweight bags. Minimum wage varies by province. The provinces with the lower minimum wage tend to have a lower cost of living. Due to a huge housing shortage across most of Canada the cost of housing has skyrocketed. Would google many stories of people not being able to find housing. Newcomers without a job face even more obstacles securing housing. Would suggest finding a discussion group for newcomers from Ukraine or Turkey. I believe there is one for Ukrainians on Facebook.

Not trying to be hard but realistic. Minimum wage in Ontario is $15.50 per hour so about $31k per year. You can get minimum wage jobs in any city, but do some research for your skill set. What job do you hope to get after working a minimum wage job? If IT for example then look at IT centres outside Toronto and in Ottawa. If you can get a job in your field and start from the bottom then you will make more money vs. keeping in a minimum wage job (service). I don’t know your education or work experience. You are fortunate because you are coming with funds which is more than most people come with.
