Hello everyone, I applied to the Cuaet program with my wife on January 4, and on January 9, we gave our biometric information in Ankara/Turkey, my wife is a citizen of Ukraine, I am a Turkish citizen, we have been married since 2017 and I have an indefinite residence in Ukraine. My wife's visa was issued in 15 days, but my process is still ongoing. Is this a normal situation? I wrote on the crisis form, but I didn't get any answers.

Yes we have seen many spouses of Ukrainians that have other citizenships experience much longer processing times. Had you been living in Ukraine before the war and where have you been living since then?

I got married after the war with Ukranian national, and we had been in a long-distance relationship for 4.5 years. She got her Canada visa in just 14 days, while I am still waiting.., I applied on 03 Oct 2022 (Open Work Permit) . I saw that processing time for Pakistani citizen is around 10 months or more.

In simple words, yes this is normal. But I would recommend that you contact IRCC by submitting Webform to prioritize your application.

Have you never lived together full-time in either Ukraine, Pakistan or a 3rd country? There could be concern about the validity of your marriage given the lack of living together and why you needed to live together and not continue the long distance marriage.

Spend a lot more time together in person. Have multiple in person visits.
The problem is, My family is quite conservative, That's why She and I did court marriage .
Regarding our relationship, She is a Ukrainian national, we met in 2018, and I tried to apply visit visa to Ukraine in Jan 2019 in order to marry her, and her mom was my sponsor. But my visa was rejected due to insufficient funds.
In 2020, as you know there was a COVID-19, We both lost our jobs, in 2021 we started both started to stable ourselves and we had plan to get married in 2022 but unfortunately the war begin.
So we got married finally in August 2022. We have 4.5 years of chat evidence of every single day.

Friends also can have chat evidence everyday. You can try and meet in a 3rd country if necessary. Based on your previous posts you said your wife had been welcomed by your family so is that no longer the case? You can also wait to hear from IRCC but given the red flags with age difference and lack of time together in person it’s unckear what will happen. More in person time would certainly help your case.

My family is quite conservative, that means they will not accept me and my wife, If I am gonna tell them that I have got married with a 15 years older lady. That's why I kept my marriage hidden with my family.

Sorry I thought I remembered seeing that your family had approved with your marriage even though such a significant age difference would not have generally been approved by families. It is often overlooked when immigration to somewhere like Canada will be possible. This is why I am suggesting meeting in a 3rd country. The fact that you are likely have different religions, have a significant age differences, got married on your first meeting, have only met one in person, etc. are all things that raise red flags for IRCC.

@canuck78 Thank you so much for your time.
Can you please confirm whether the following situation still raise red flags?

As I got married in August 2022, my wife came to Pakistan after the war. The Ukraine Embassy in Pakistan was already accepting visa applications, and as she is a Ukrainian national, We planned to go to Ukraine together so I applied Ukraine visa. However, despite having completed all necessary documents, the visa application was rejected due to the ongoing war. This was emotionally distressing for me and my wife and she was emotionally crying when talking to the Visa officer regarding my application, The visa officer informed us that an appeal could be lodged, but it would need to be approved by the Ministry of Interior of Ukraine for it to be successful. Unfortunately, the appeal was also rejected, leaving us with no other option but to explore other countries. We found out that Canada was a viable option that gives priority to families, so we applied for a visa there. Despite this, my wife and I are still upset that our situation continues to raise red flags in our relationship.

Yes it still raises red flags. The biggest issue is that you have spent very little time together and didn’t even meet before getting married. Funds may still be an issue. The fact that you are much younger than your spouse and have different religions raise concerns who
It whether immigration is a factor in your relationship. Has your family not pushed to
I to get married to someone else if they are unaware of your marriage.
