CSQ TIMELINE 2013

You better get used to those extra chargers! Quebec always has a way of making things more difficult or more expensive provincially.
 
Yeah, we aren't big fans of what is locally called the "Bienvenue au Québec" tax, either.

Wait, what is that?!

I know Quebec has a lot of extra taxes and fees, but to me it's worth it. I love Quebec and feel like my (our) tax dollars are going towards something. I can see it instead of just hearing about it.
 
Not sure exactly what the tax is for. In addition to all the taxes you pay when you close on your home, and the regular yearly taxes on the property, and the school taxes, there's a one-time tax you pay in the beginning. It was $1200 or $1600, somewhere in that range.

I like Quebec just fine. It's pretty here. It's just expensive (especially for me, as I come from Oklahoma, which has a really low cost of living, even for the US), and the language barrier is really a challenge, especially up where I am.
 
Since we haven't recieved any confirmation from MICC about the CSQ, my wife called today, and it turns out the we got aproved March 6th. He said that that same day, they emailed the embassy here in Mexico regarding the CSQ.

So from this is so far our timeline for the CSQ

Undertaking sent: Feb 7th
Application recieved: Feb 9th
Payment processed: Feb 18th
Undertaking approved: March 6th
CSQ: Still waiting for it to come in the mail :P

So i have application to CSQ today after CIC approved sponsor on friday.
As per their website it says 20 business days? What is the practical time taken by MICC to process a CSQ?

Anyone has idea if MICC will send acknowledgement with file number etc.. once they receieved?

I sent with tracking parcel so i can track once they receive it. Also i have filled the fee form with my credit card details with amount filled.
I know i can check a transaction on my credit card. but jus curious to know if they will send any acknowledgement before.

Yes, I read it somewhere that its 20 business days, but from what I've read and seen on the forum, it takes about 35-45 natural days from the moment you sent the undertaking until you got the csq.

MICC won't send you or let you know that they have your file. I sent mine with Fedex so I knew they got it. I still haven't recieved it though, the actual CSQ, don't know why, but at least we know we got aproved.
 
Hi everyone.. My husband sent our CSQ to MICC on Feb. 1, 2013 and got the approval Feb. 25, 2013 through mail.. Yes the waiting for CSQ approval is 20 business days so it means you should wait for a month.. But if you have'nt recieve any approval from them yet, you can call them and follow up your application.. ☺

The date that he recieved the approval in the mail.. :)
 
Its now the 25th or march but still no update about our Undertaking or on my CSQ.

Don't worry it's still on the 20 Business days for approval, you have until April 1st.. If your wife did'nt recieve the approval then she can call MICC.. Maybe it's on it's way na.. ☺
