CSQ spouse sponsorship inland timeline 2024

Hi,
We (Family with kids) are submitting the application for CSQ under PEQ program. Once CSQ is approved, is it mandatory to submit all the family members PR together or if one of us wants to process PR with a delay of one year or so, is that permitted? My wife is the main applicant, and I may get a job offer from other country and we are not clear which country to choose at this time.
Can you please clarify.

Congrats! may I ask what is the IRCC number you used? I want to check with them also.

Thanks! The number is 1-800-242-2100, press 1 and then input your UCI number followed by # when prompted, then press 1 to confirm, and without waiting, press 340 to connect to an agent. You may have to press 340 a couple of times but it eventually connects. Use the callback option if they offer it so you don’t have to wait on the line.

I just called IRCC too. They confirmed they received my husband’s CSQ this morning. I wonder, since that moment, if it's really going to take 27 months in total for his PR. I feel like things going quicker than what i was expecting ! He didn’t do medical yet .. lets see ..

When I applied for PR on Nov 9, 2023 the wait was listed as 24 months. You can see in my signature what my full timeline looks like. I'm at the stage where all I am waiting on is COPR and I have met the reqs for it since June 2024. From what I can tell people who applied in Spring 2023 are currently receiving their PR in 18-20 months, so if that trend continues, then mine would arrive sometime between May and July 2025.

Hi, from the moment when my card got debited, how long do I have to wait to get the CSQ? As they communicate through papers along with Canada post strike, I have no idea if my application is okay or it got returned but stuck due to the strike. Thanks.

Only took 6 days for me once they accepted payment, but that was before all of this strike business. The strike is officially over as of tomorrow (Tues Dec 17), so anything stuck in the post should start moving again at that point. I would say give it 7-14 days for you to get the physical letters. Congrats on having a completed CSQ application accepted for review! ^^

Only took 6 days for me once they accepted payment, but that was before all of this strike business. The strike is officially over as of tomorrow (Tues Dec 17), so anything stuck in the post should start moving again at that point. I would say give it 7-14 days for you to get the physical letters. Congrats on having a completed CSQ application accepted for review! ^^

I'm not sure if my application is okay because I'm worried if there was any missing documents, then I have to restart again..

If anything was missing they would not have accepted payment to review the application and instead just sent it back as incomplete. Since you see that they accepted your payment method, that means all necessary documents have been appropriately included for their review. At this stage, your application will either be accepted or declined due to ineligibility. The tough part of it is done, and I'm sure there's no reason to think that your application would be rejected, so you should hear back on it in the postal mail soon!

I came here just wanna say I am on the same boat, I am so frustrated to wait this. I thought I am gonna get it max within 15 months, as it shows 12 months when i applied. Now still stuck on back ground check. Quebec is so sick.

I am confused, you got your CSQ? If so, MIFI’s part is over, it’s all in IRCC’s hands now.. That’s my understanding anyway (which was also confirmed to me but an acquaintance that works at IRCC processing PR applications).

It's true that it's technically in the IRCC's hands, but Quebec is still to blame for this lack of progress. The IRCC will stop processing files due to Quebec's annual sponsorship quotas. There are many cases where people's files have been marked as fully completed for months, or they're stuck in BGC for a super long time and they aren't getting approved, and when they send webforms to the IRCC about it, they get told that they have to wait to approve their application due to the quotas and that their application is effectively "frozen" for an undetermined period of time.

Yes, that used to be true as Quebec had a yearly quota which was often reached within the first few months of the year. But I believe that since June 26, 2024, when Quebec imposed a quota of around 10k applications for the next 2 years for sponsorships, as long as your application got in before this 10k cap is reached, no file should be left sitting in a pile on the desk of an officer. This is just what I think, I have not received confirmation from anyone of my theory.
