CSQ inland Processing Times 2012

Hello folks,

I am currently staying in Montreal as a temporary worker and would like to apply for permanent residency.
I have talked to immigration canada and I need my CSQ first, so that is what I want to apply for now.
My problem is that I have read very confusing ideas about the processing times, some people in this forum have written that it should take 20 working days, but in a link I found it says to expect 6months
(I am not sure if this is actually for outland processing times)

In any case, any input regarding CSQ processing times from inside Canada (Quebec, actually) would be extremely helpful.

Thanks in advance!

I waited 10months last year, but I lost 2 months because of missing documents, so, prepare yourself for 6-9 months, that'll be realistic. i don't think it'll be much faster this year.

You can get the CSQ within 6-8 weeks, but i don't know the type of Visa you need, i'm working with somebody fron France, he's in a special programm, took him 9months total for PR, CSQ included!

hope it helps....

Thanks a lot... it seems that the processing time and fees have risen quite a lot compared to what other fellows of the forum are saying!
750$ and 6-9 months... !

I have a work permit that expires in mid january... and I have a job offer for a continuous job. I just need the CSQ in other to get the LMO waiver and be able to extend my work permit for a year or so to be able to cover the processing times of a permanent residence application.

THnaks again, lepatissier

I think mine was the longest wait. I took me 18 months to get CSQ. I am in Montreal and applied form here. First, there was delay because they asked me some degree certificate. Then in the interview, my french was not good they said and asked to me to take test. Then I took the test and submitted photocopy of the results. Then they asked me for original certificate of the test results which they never mentioned before !!! All these things delayed my CSO so long !!!

and, the Quebec immigration website is not one of the most easiest to read. the missing documents in my case, i found them 2 weeks later through reading and reading and clicking from link to another.deeper and deeper...loool..it was like a rabbit hole.

before you send all your docs, make sure you clicked on every link and read every single site... or you loses another 2 months..

Hi,

I applied for my CSQ for Permanent Resident from within Canada in Sept 2010, and I got my CSQ interview in Montreal in February 2012 and was given the CSQ there and then. So that's about 18 months from applying to getting it. I submitted my permanent residency application within 10 days of getting the CSQ but it seems this is going to take another 18-24 months. So the whole process of becoming a permanent resident looks like about 3 - 3.5 years for me.

Having a CSQ doesn't mean the LMO is waived. I think that depends on the type of job you are applying for.
My employer applied for 2 LMOs on my behalf in the last year, and each time it took more than 2 months.

Possible LMO Waiver whilst holding your CSQ :

http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/students/stay-quebec/application-csq/students-quebec/after-csq.html

Check for eligibility! Depends more on the Program. (Only Renew/Prolong Workpermits)

I did it! (Yound Professional Visa, Pastry Chef)

readya, :)

This must have been enforced since February 2012 which was the last time I applied. Certainly makes things easier! Thanks for the update.

2 years, that is truly screwed up. Can't believe they let people wait that long even if they are already living and working in Québec. My WHV expires in June and chances are equal to zero that I will obtain my CSQ prior to that date, as far as I am concerned. I sincerely hope they take my nursing degree as well as my current employment into consideration...

Hey there!

Well, I sent it by registered mail and it says it arrived on the 14th of January 2014.
Haven't heard anything yet though (which is not surprising).
