CSQ Expired - AOR not received

Hello,

Any advice about the following situation is much appreciated:

1. Got our CSQ in DEC-2013
2. Sent CIC file in NOV-2016
3. CIC application was received at CIO on 24-NOV-2016
4. CSQ expired on 5-DECEMBER-2016

Till now, I haven't received AOR, which means I do not have any file number to ask for information.
Since I currently live outside Canada, a phone number to call CIO is not even available.

My questions:
- Do I need to contact CIO or MIDI regarding renewal of CSQ?
- Do I need to do anything besides waiting for AOR/application number?
- Is the CIO the only party to issue the request to renew CSQ to MIDI?
- The only reason I applied late for CIC are purely personal/business related. Will this affect the decision?
- I have a newborn child that I included in the CIC application. Do I have to file separately for her CSQ or wait for the renewal request to come from CIO?
- How is it possible to call/contact CIO and ask for information? The internet is filled with false advice on this point, so if anyone have first-hand experience with this...

You might want to check with a lawyer or read CIC's website, since one of the requirement for PR at the federal stage is a valid CSQ which you seem to not have anymore.

If renewing CSQ takes a fair amount of time, apply directly to CEC/Express Entry (whichever is applicable) since you are already outside Canada.

you have 2 issues :

1. Expired CSQ. Let's forget about it for now. No big deal. CIC will ask you for new CSQ with unexpired validity and MIDI will issue it to you once you forward request from CIC.

2. You included a new born child in CIC application with out CSQ. This is big deal . You should have asked MIDI for CSQ for new born child before submitting CIC application. Please reach out to MIDI and ask them for process to get CSQ for new born child ASAP.

Thank you for your replies.

I did in fact contact MIDI before sending my CIC application, and they specifically told me to send it and then worry about renewals.

Now I'm stuck with this:

- MIDI has nothing further to help me with until they hear from CIC
- CIC cannot help me at all since I still don't have a file identifier. They don't even have a phone number for outside Canada

Any ideas?

You need to wait till you get your AOR from CIC. This can take up to 120 working days which means up to the third of April 2017.

Hope for the best. I was in a similar situation. My application went through. Usually, if CIC received your complete application before your CSQ expired then they respect the date and ask MIDI for renewed CSQ.

Good morning

I am in the same situation. I urge your help because I have no way to communicate with CIC from outside of Canada.

1. CIC application was delivered at "CENTRALIZED INTAKE OFFICE, CIC, SYDNEY, NS" on 29-NOV-2019
2. CSQ expired on 6-DECEMBER-2019

To date (5/12/19), I haven't received any AOR yet. Do they count the "AOR date" or the Delivery date? Can someone send me a link where I coulc read more about it, please?
