Anyone got any email stating that your application will be processed in Spring 2017 ? What does it mean actually ? please share your experience with us....

I applied for csq on nov/2016 & got the following email, no update after this.

We have received your application for the Québec Selection Certificate, as well as your payment, within the prescribed deadlines.

Please note that we expect to begin processing applications received online in the spring of 2017.

We will contact you via My Québec Project only when we process your application and, if necessary, send you a personalized list of documents to send to us. Examination of your application will begin once we receive these documents.

In order to help you know the main stages of processing an online application, we invite you to consult the page Steps and Average Processing Times of an application for the Québec Selection Certificate online.

hi,
The Ministère is currently verifying the documents of applications received in the month of: June 2016 (Québec only)
The Ministère is currently verifying the documents of applications received in the month of: November 2015 Canada (excluding Québec)
it will take at least 60 days after march/2017 as Ministère will start processing from Spring/2017 to move to the next step.

Hi All,

I came to Montreal in Nov'16 with work permit along with family(Spouse, and two kids). I am planning to apply for PR.
when i called CIC. they suggested me to first talk to Quebec Immigration and get CSQ.
today, i called Quebec Immigration to know the pre-requisites and eligibility before applying for CSQ.
Call center agent says, i can apply for CSQ right away . IELTS is not mandatory but it may add some points.

with the above context, i need some guidance
1. how can i know my points before applying the CSQ?
2. what is the duration or time frame to get my CSQ approved?
3. once i get my CSQ. how long will it takes to apply for PR?
4. once i get my PR. am i expected to surrender my Indian passport and nationality
5. Please help with data points, which needs to be taken care while applying for CSQ online with your prior experiences.

For cap-exempt applications , it should take 2-4 months. You might want to submit application ASAP. MIDI is going to start processing 5k-10k in Spring 2017 and it might slow down your application.

3. once i get my CSQ. how long will it takes to apply for PR?

You can apply for PR as soon as you get physical copy of CSQ. I sent out my PR application next day after I received my CSQ.

4. once i get my PR. am i expected to surrender my Indian passport and nationality

No. PR = Permanent Residency = Citizenship minus voting rights = Privilege to enter Canada without any visa.

You will need to surrender Indian PP after you become Canadian Citizen ( 3-5 years after PR)

"For cap-exempt applications , it should take 2-4 months"---This is probably not the case at least for now, I submitted with Mon Projet on November 19, no update at all yet. If They won't start processing until Spring 2017, it will at least take 6 six months just for them to start processing!
