A valid job offer is always supported by LMIA, so if no LMIA then no points.

I mean, just spend 30 sec and read whats on the website. How can you still say ''a valid job offer is ALWAYS supported by LMIA''.

This is partly correct, a valid job offer can also be from a LMIA exempt work permit which is employer-specific.

Also, just to give some more information from my phone call with CIC. They said before Nov 19th a valid job offer always required an LMIA support and was awarding 600 points. After Nov 19th, they expanded 'valid job offer' clause and made it more flexible which might or might not include PGWP holders (and rewarding less points 50 & 200 depending on NOC 00 or not). This is what exactly the CIC Agent said.

"Might or might not include PGWP holders" - For the third time, it doesn't include PGWP holders.

you have a valid work permit for a NOC 0, A or B job that is exempt from needing an LMIA, and you:

are currently working for an employer specified on the work permit
have one year of full-time work experience (or an equal amount of part-time work) for that employer and
have a valid job offer from that employer for at least one year after we issue your permanent resident visa.

You do not meet that criteria, therefore you are not entitled to those points. Again, if you want to claim those points go for it but this is the last time that I will warn you not to do it.

Exactly!!!

Hello Everyone

I am working here in Canada for last one year on a closed work permit specific to an employer. It is an intra company transfer from US and hence I believe it is LMIA exempted. Can I claim the 1 year Canadian experience AND the 50 points for valid job offer on my EE profile? I also have 15 years of foreign work experience in India.

Thanks
Santhosh

Hi,

I am not in Canada but have a job offer from Canadian firm and they have mentioned that the work permit applied was LMIA exempt. I used to work in India in the same company but now transferring to Canada (The reason I say it is a job offer because legally they are separate entities).

For express entry should I mention this as "valid job offer"? Can anyone assist? What documents will I need to prove beyond the offer letter?

No. That is not a valid job offer.

Thank you so much for a quick response, what do I need additionally to prove it is a valid job offer from express entry point of view?

1 - To have a employer specific work permit (closed work permit).
2 - To work for your employer for a year in Canada (assuming full-time work).
3 - To have a job offer valid for a year after receiving PR.

Thank you so much.. When I asked my immigration attorney they just mentioned "we applied for your work permit under an LMIA exempt category"

Wasn't sure what to make out of it..

I don’t have pay stubs or tax slips I just have salary certificate and offer letter with mentioning cash salary will that work? I cannot get now because the company is closed, I added same docs when I applied for student visa

Hi, I followed up a bit with my Work Permit attorney and they mentioned that the work permit is LMIA exempt as the work falls under "Canadian interest" category.

Hey Everyone,

I will be completing my 1 year work experience in Canada in January and within a NOC A job. I have a permanent and full time position for NOC A position. I have 2 questions regarding the CRS point system and I'd appreciate any input:

1.

6) Work Experience

i. In the last ten years, how many years of skilled work experience in Canada do you have?

- I've selected 1 Year for this question

ii. In the last 10 years, how many years of skilled work experience do you have?

-This question doesn't specify if the work experience within last 10 years is in Canada or not. I don't have any other work experience outside Canada. In total I have TOTAL 1 year work experience in Canada and outside Canada. So should I select 1 year for this question as well? Or is it trying to ask my foreign experience ONLY (if you check the point calculation matrix it mention foreign experience - outside Canada)?

2.

8) Do you have a valid job offer supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (if needed)?

- Again, I have a full time, permanent, NOC A job and I am holding a open post-graduate work permit. I don't have LMIA. Is my job offer valid?

Thanks and Good Luck Everyone!
Hello
I know it's 2 years since you posted this.. I'm in the dance boat, did you get your PR. Can you please help me clarify few doubts. Thanks
